What a disaster!! This hotel is really really hard to find. Directions from the website are totally useless. We took the H bus and got off at the stop outside the white building. So far so good.............NOT! We walked around for ages trying to locate the hotel, rang them to tell them where we were but was told it was... more

Initally the hotel was difficult to find. I took the train from Roma Termini to Trastevere station, but from there the bus route dumped me in the rain at an intersection for which I had no clue how to get to the hotel. I hailed a taxi and he chuckled and said oh yes, I know where it is and... more

Quirky hotel in the far south side of the Trastevere district. Looks like a standard appartment house (and a boring one) from the outside, but quite cool inside. The majority of the staff do their best to stay with the decoration, ie cool and unfortunately not too friendly. Do spend the money on a better than standard room, as some... more

We enjoyed our stay at the Ripa Hotel. The location is close to good convenient transport and to the interesting and lovely old area. Breakfast breakfast selection was good. more

We stayed at the Hotel Ripa for ten nights in August and had a great time. Yes there are elements to the hotel that need some attention, but this did not detract from what was a very pleasant stay. Situated in the Trastevere area of Rome, the hotel is within easy access of the centre of the city, owing to... more

I am making up a new definition based on my expirience with this Hotel- WYSI N WYG that stands for "What You See Is NOT What You Get". Booked the hotel based on the internet AMAZING pics. The room we got had nothing to do with it. Indeed the lobby looks cool and I am sure they do have (somewhere)... more

After reading a lot of negative reviews on this hotel I was very worried about what to expect. I wasn't worried about the location as we had stayed in the Trastevere district before and like this part of Rome after a days sight seeing. However, my concerns over the hotel quickly evaporated. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our... more

Having read reviews, eg The Grim Reaper, and the fact that I am petrified of spiders (see other reviews), to say I was worried about staying here is a grand under-statement. We arrived in Trastevere station later than expected and found ourselves roaming the streets around midnight looking for the hotel - it is off the main road om the... more

The best thing about Ripa Hotel was the Trastevere neighborhood, which was filled with excellent restaurants and bars. However, the absence of a nearby metro station meant that a first-time visitor to Rome like my partner and I wound up taking a cab back to the hotel most of the time, particularly given the oppressive Roman heat. The hotel was... more
