When booking Rome we had no idea where to stay. This hotel had the most amazing location just a 5 minute walk from the Colosseum. There were two tube stops which were only 5-10 minute walk away. The hotel was very clean and modern. The rooftop pool was also very handy as the weather was so warm. The view of... More

Had a wonderful 3 night break here before leaving for Sorrento. The staff were friendly enough the best thing was the location for us especially having the view of the Coliseum so close it was incredible. The roof top bar was perfect for winding down after sightseeing & the staff up there were great. Cocktails even better! There was plenty... More

My mum and I stayed here on our 4 night visit to rome. We were impressed with the fresh modern decor & cleanliness of the hotel and room. We were placed at the back but this was actually better as away from the main road and view to some lovely residential buildings. The roof terrace is beautiful with views over... More

What an amazing hotel in a fantasic position. View of the Colosseum from our hotel room. Easy to get to other attractions. Breakfast on terrace a good start to the day. Pool towels provided. Very clean. The only negative would be that the pool closed at 7 and there were not enough beds and no shade. If you want the... More

Me & my partner recently stayed at the Mercure Rome Colosseum Centre. The hotel is in the perfect location, less than a five minute walk to the colosseum. Our stay was completely flawless. Both our room & the hotel were very modern. Mercure offer an exclusive dinner (Max 3 tables of 2 per night) on their rooftop terrace overlooking the... More

Second stay in this hotel. Came back as I remembered the fabulous view from the roof top bar. It is indeed a great location, and also nice that you can have Italian breakfast on the roof top, while enjoying the stunning view of the colosseum. Unfortunately the rest is disappointing. The place is not very clean. Found long black hair... More

There were pluses and minuses to this hotel. First the positive aspects were the hotel was modern and clean. One of our favorite parts of the hotel was the roof top pool, bar, and view. Especially in the heat of the summer this was a nice place to cool off or relax until it cooled down for the evening. The... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
