I booked three rooms in this hotel for a trip with friends to celebrate my 50th birthday late in November 2014. I made the booking in March, and prepaid the reservations in full in order to obtain the best price. I also informed the hotel of the reason for the stay as well as expressing some preferences and making some... More

You cannot beat this hotel for location considering the price. It was literally a 2 minute walk from The Colosseum which you can see as soon as you arrive. From here it is also a 6-7 min walk to Manzoni underground station (just turn left out of hotel and keep walking straight down the road until you see the red... More

Staff friendly, modern hotel, walking distance to Colosseum with the usual tourist restaurants nearby. Breakfast was (very) good as was the guest room (though small as you might guess). Has a nice little roof top bar with draft beer available (my standard test is whether a place has draft beer) and it has a good view of the Colosseum down... More

My family and I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights in November 2014. The location is excellent, it is a block away from the colloseum (walking distance) and some rooms even have a view of it. There are local cafes and restaurants that are touristy and aren't touristy. The hotel was modern and was clean most the time. Only... More

Am on my way home today after an excellent 4 night stay at the mercure in Rome. Very impressed with the hotel - very clean, excellent location and friendly helpful staff! Could not find anything negative to say about the hotel. Would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Rome!

This hotel is located minutes from the Colleseum and a metro station. The rooms are small-ish but quite nice. Bar is as you would expect. The breakfast is quite well-stocked. I would stay here again on my next visit to Rome.

This is a great hotel for visiting Rome, it's a 5 min walk from the Colosseum metro station and on arrival check-in was swift and painless. The rooms look like they've been recently refitted, very modern and clean. Good shower too. Really nothing of note to complain about, one small thing that was a little odd - they wont supply... I did get this cheap in the off season, but was so impressed I will definitely come back. Great location for walking, or taking the tram or metro. Very genuine and helpful staff both at the desk and bar. The rooms are very modern and to a good standard--very clean and quiet considering the location. The 8th floor bar pool... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
