The hotel looks nice once you step into the lobby. The front desk attendant is very courteous and helpful. Once we stepped into the room, it became a sauna. I complained several times while we stayed there, but they kept telling me it takes some time to cool. At 3am, I decided to sleep in the lobby where the temperature... more

The only way to make a reservation at this Hotel would be to walk in to the reception and ask if they had any rooms available!....if you book it with any Internet Booking agency you will most likely arrive at the Hotel and be told "Sorry, we do not appear to have your booking" After consulting TripAdvisor prior to making... more

Stayed in Hotel 10th -14th May. While rooms were small this was a minor details. B/Fast was OK would agree with the coffee machines. What we found fantastic was we had two elderly ladies with us and 'walking' around rome was not practicle, the hotel organised our taxi on the first morning to the Vatican city, the taxi driver was... more

Probably the friendliest people we met in Rome! Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Room a bit small but shower rediculously small - gap to get in no more than 20 inches! On a busy road, would have kept the window open for fresh air but too noisy even at night. Hotel was described as 500 metres from Termini station -... more

Before going, we knew this hotel was farther out that we had wanted, but let our relatives do the booking. There were issues with the booking process that the hotel told us to "work out between us". We were trying to reserve a room by each couple, but they charged our card with the whole amount. The rooms were on... more

The hotel is 10 minutes brisk walk from just about any major landmark, the staff is extremely friendly, the management must be proud of their team. Clean, welcoming and bright, it only has two failings, one is the size of the bathroom, which is much too small and the other is the breakfast: coffee machine makes excellent espresso, but no... more

I have just come back from a stay at the Hotel Gambrinus and would stress 'this is not a 4 star hotel' as it claims. There is a certificate above the reception given to them by expedia dated 2005 but they either stayed in an exclusive part of the hotel or it has gone down hill rapidly in the last... more

Good hotel. Quite clean and modest price. Conveniently located near the attractions and safe. I stayed here for 4 nights. The staff were very helpful and spoke reasonably good English. However, the shower was small for a 4 star hotel. The double room was not very big but reasonable I ask for a superior room but the were all booked... more

All hotel reviews are based on previous hotel experience and standards that you personally expect. I earn an average wage and expect a clean, well presented/decorated room that is big enough to swing a cat with helpful, courteous staff. I booked this through a v well known UK website advertising as their most popular 4 star hotel in Rome for... more
