When you arrive all you see is a glass entrance door - don't be put off its lovely inside. Stayed here for two nights before going on a cruise. Very nice room although no view. A bit out of the city but buses and taxis available. Staff very helpful even to advising about a trip to the Colosseum , helped... More

We were staying in the building next to the hotel. These are hotel rooms but completely disconnected to the hotel and lobby and cafeteria kitchen. At first we were not happy with the disconnection but we looked at some of the other rooms in the main hotel and this room seems larger and nicer. It had a more modern look... More

We chose the hotel because of its proximity to the city centre. True, there are other hotels more conveniently located but we were able to reach the centre very quickly. The hotel has good transport links, although it is a walk to the nearest metro at Republica. Don't expect a top class hotel. It is 4 **** but there were... More

The Gambrinus is clean and comfortable, with a very friendly staff. Our stay here was enjoyable -- the rooms were fine and the breakfast was very good. Loved the quaint setup -- it's a smaller, older hotel. Our only complaint was the "recreation vehicle"-type showers. They were difficult to seal and the floor ended up getting soaked. We've seen these... More

A couple of nights spent here in the summer heat of Rome. My room, with a double bed, was only just bigger than the bed but was comfortable and cool enough. Shower was tiny. Room and bathroom were kept clean though. Strange noises from plumbing in the middle of the night, I should have packed my earplugs! Free wifi, but... More

The rooms were nice but the showers were absolutely tiny. The AC was supposedly there but the rooms were extremely warm no matter how many staff members came to fiddle with it. This was distressing with how hot it was in Rome in July. All you wanted was to come back to your room after a long hot day of... More

We both enjoyed our stay at the Gambrinus Hotel in Rome. The location was extremely convenient, located down the street from a taxi pickup location with a safe and easy walk to several of Rome's attractions. It takes less than a half hour to walk to some of the better-known fountains and a quick taxi ride is less than 15... More

My wife and I booked the Hotel Gambrinus as part of a City Break via Jet2 for seven nights starting on the 23rd of June 2015, we chose a Superior Double room with breakfast included in the rate. On our arrival at the hotel we were greeted by the front desk staff and then taken to our room and the... More

This hotel was a great little find and does what it says on the tin basically. The rooms are incredibly clean and looked after well by the maid service everyday. Shower wash dispensers in the shower at provided but nothing else apart from 2 shower caps. There is also a soap dispenser next to the sink. Breakfast is as you... More
