We rented Monteverde Guest House as a party of six, two couples and two singles in March, 2015. It was the perfect base from which to explore Rome. The house is located in the residential area of Monteverde, out of the crazy tourist section of Rome but still walking distance (downhill going and uphill coming back) to Vatican City, Trastevere,... We stayed at the Monteverde Guesthouse for 10 days in March. There was a group of 6 family/friends. The house would be perfect for up to 4 couples. We rented the entire house and we were more than happy with our choice. I spent two months looking for places to rent. Looking at hundreds of houses, reading all the reviews... More

Six of us came to Rome for 3 days, and chose the Monteverde Guesthouse as our place to stay. I am so glad we did! It is located in a quiet neighborhood, a perfect retreat from a busy day in Rome. It is a wonderful place: it has 4 bedrooms (all on one floor), a kitchen, and a very comfortable... More

We stayed at the Monteverde guesthouse..we had a 80 birthday celebration and we decided to take the entire guesthouse which includes 4 very spacious rooms all with their own full bathroom. Bonus...full kitchen, kitchen sitting area and living room... Not to mention the great outdoor backyard with a wonderful garden, nice sitting area, ping pong table etc. We had no... More

Me my wife and 3 other couples spend 3 glorious days in Rome, before a cruise, we selected Monteverde as our base and was not disappointed, everything was as advertised. With 4 bedrooms and 4 baths it was perfect for our needs. The garden was great, having our coffee there each morning was memory we will never forget. Great friends... More

Jorma Leinonen Espoo... More

We recently took over the 4 rooms and spent 5 nights at this lovely apartment. Located a little way out but in a nice quiet area and still within a 40minute walk of the centre or a 7 euro taxi. Facilities are good and as described on the website, breakfast, coffee etc are topped up daily. We had a small... More

We just recently finished a week's stay at the Monteverde Guesthouse with friends. There were 9 of us in total (5 children and 4 adults). The home was a great launching spot for each day's outings. Location felt very central with very doable walks to the Vatican and the Forum area. The house was also a great retreat for the... More

Great spot. Far enough from centre to avoid tourists but Los enough to reach all sites quickly. Staying in a neighborhood allowed us to go to some fab restaurants, markets and shops. Our family took over the 4 bedrooms all with private baths,.We enjoyed the courtyard for afternoon home made lunches and the kitchen and living room allowed for casual... More

Staying in Monteverde

Neighborhood Profile
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighborhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centerpiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the center to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
