Finding a place in Rome with a good location and at an afordable price can be difficult. I found both with this B&B. I checked out AirBnB and to be honest this was a better deal. The directions on website from the Airport to the B&B were easy to follow, I met the owner who was very welcoming. He offered me a coffee as my rooom wasn't quite ready. He quickly explained the set up and in addition offered to provide me with any information I needed about getting around Rome and sugeested some interesting walking tours. The B&B is on the 3rd floor and accessible by stairs or a European-style elevator. The breakfast is included and typically Italian, The owner brings fresh baked croissants every morning around 830. The rooms are simple, very clean and reasonably quiet. The Internet was good. I paid for my room with Visa; however I had to pay the city tax in cash, 3.5 Euros per day. Most hotels seem to want the city tax up front..The building and area has a local feel. The street has a nice selection of small restaurants. The entrance to the Vatican Museums is ony 10 minute walk and the Ottavino Metro station is a 5 minute walk.…

I've stayed at Gabriel's place for two nights and I have to say that Gabriel is the nicest host that I ever met. He is so handsome and kind that I would say he is the best of the B&B. This residencia place is good for those who are looking for a place to crash. The place is clean. Room is a little dark and noisy. Thanks Gabriel Marcio

After a lot of searching for somewhere cheap to stay in Rome we decided to book A Casa di Al&Ga. Safe to day we were thoroughly pleased with our choice. Firstly, the location is fantastic as just round the corner to a metro station linked directly to Termini train station and just 10 minutes walk from the Vatican walls. It is also excellent as a leisurely half an hour walk will get you to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, past Castel Sant'Angelo. The B&B itself deserves quite a bit of praise as they managed to turn an Italian apartment in a very comfortable B&B. The rooms are not huge but are very comfortable and are air conditioned, which is not that common in Italy. The rooms are very clean and the bed quite comfortable. The continental breakfast may not be to everyone's taste but we enjoyed it, especially the fresh croissants every morning. Plenty enough to get you going before a morning of sightseeing. Gabriele himself deserves a mention as he is one of the best hosts we've encountered. On arrival he greeted us and took the time to suggest two itineraries that included sights not particularly common or well known. I tested these and was happy to find that his suggestions were spot on. If we were to stay in Rome again, I'd probably stick with this place.…

I really wanted to like this place, provided it's never less than an average review. But unfortunately we did not have a good experience. Firstly when we arrived, the room wasn't ready, even though we informed the owner our time of arrival. But she was nice enough to let us keep our luggage and asked us to come back in few hours. So it was no big deal. Just to help future travellers, here are the pros and cons. Pros: Great location - walking distance to shops, metro and Vatican. Good for a short stay - 2-3 days max. Owner is helpful and friendly. Spacious Air con works perfectly - I found this to be relatively important in Italy hotels. Especially in the summer. Most hotels seem to have problems with air conditioning. Cons: Place needs to be cleaned more. Our sheets had stains on them. During our 3 day stay, our room wasn't cleaned/sheets were not changed. By the 3rd day I felt icky, especially it being summer time. Breakfast room was not clean either. Had flies everywhere, and coffee cups were sitting there for hours. Breakfast was average. Rooms were quite dark, when you open the windows it overlooks into someone's apartment. So we kept it close most of the time and had lights on. They were not bright enough. Can get quite noisy - when we stayed there was some kind of construction going, and it was pretty loud. You can also hear the halls being cleaned by the cleaners. Vacuum cleaner etc.. We would not return only because of the cleanliness of the place. I was quite shocked to know they don't come and clean the room on a daily basis or to the least change sheets and towels. Otherwise, if you are looking for a night or two it's not a bad place to stay. PS: The city tax is not included in the price you book through booking.com. When you check out, the owner will ask you to pay in cash, It was around 14 Euro for the two of us. …

7 min walk to the Vatican, a stroll to the nearest Metro station, clean basic accommodation ideal for a short sight seeing trip...The owner was great gave me a map and talked me through places to see and how to get there. I would definitely recommend in fact I will be going back there on my next trip to Rome...

Great location just a short walk from the Vatican. The owner was very helpful showing us on a street map all the places to visit & how to get there, this really helped us as first time visitors to Rome. The room was clean & comfortable & all we needed for a short city break.

Great location for the Vatican, all other interesting sights in easy walking distance. The owner will give you a map of things to see and the route to take - we did it all. 24 hr refreshments available. Pillows very flat - we had to use the extra bedding to add some bulk to them. Our room was 1 of 3 in the B&B. Sound travels through the walls very easily if people are inconsiderate, we could very easily hear their TV, arguing and their phone ringing all at 1.30 AM! The B & B is on the 3rd floor of a building but a lift is available. The owner does not live at the property so he wasn't there when we arrived and we had to wait out on the street until he arrived to let us in. Soaps/ shampoos provided for 1 night only but there are shops close by to purchase any that you may need. Our window opened onto a small courtyard surrounded by 4 enclosed walls so there wasn't a view at all except for people's washing. Breakfast was fresh croissants, cereals, toast and yogurts which was sufficent to set us up for the day. If we were to return to Rome, we would book here again.…

Great Hotel... The host is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home , take the time to talk with him as he is like a free mini tour guide , great knowledge and advise. I love the breakfast room as its open 24/7 and all free :) great for snacks. The location is fantastic I managed to travel around most of Rome by foot , however the metro is very close by. I felt safe as a solo travelling lady in the location and Hotel. I will be recommending this hotel and hopefully revisit in the future :)

I was very pleased with my choice of this B&B. Only minutes from the Metro and St Peter's, it is modest and clean with a most excellent proprietor who loves his city and enthusiastically shares his knowledge. I loved the extra touches of food and coffee available 24/7 (for free) potpouri in the room and all the advice. This is not just a business, it is a labor of love.

This B&B is only a few minutes walk from the metro and the Vatican. The staff and owners were very helpful and welcoming. Positives: - location - friendly staff - air conditioned - all day breakfast - free and reliable wifi Negatives: - tiny shower: I had the single room so maybe they're larger in the the rooms - the building is old but it gave the place an interesting atmosphere I would highly recommend this B&B and I felt safe as a solo traveller staying here.
