We booked the Mary Bell due to the good reviews it had been given and it's handy location. We were not disappointed! The B & B is excellent value for money. We paid 300 euros for 4 nights including city tax (equivalent to around £220 or £55 a night). The B & B was clean, with our room being very... More

I chose the Mary Bell because it's only a 10 minute walk from the Termini. So you can fly into Fiumicino and get the Leonardo Express (€14 each way) which only takes around 25 mins. The Mary Bell is very clean and Andrea (the owner) was very helpful. It has a communal fridge and facilities for tea/coffee and also has... More

Lovely large room with the comfiest (huge) king size bed plus two bunk beds and less than 300 euros for 3 nights for two of us. Even though the room was at the front, the triple glazing shut out the traffic noise. Andrea is delightful, and the coffee was delicious. Only about 10 minutes walk from the Colosseum and a... More

We were met by Andrea who instantly treated us like old friends. His local and unbiased knowledge was extremely impressive and helpful. He was able to recommend restaurants based upon the time of day, type of cuisine and price. He expertly marked these on a local map for us. The room was not huge but perfect for two with access... We arrived at this B&B in the evening, the manager was there to greet us. It was a warm 28 degree night, the manager suggested where we could get a meal, but we discovered a pub across the road opened till the early hours, always a good last stop before we retired at night. Our room was clean roomy and... More

When we arrived Andrea, the host, wasn't there but a lovely lady showed us to our room and explained the keys, wifi etc. Andrea did make sure to see us during our stay. We stayed for 3 nights and I would have loved to have stayed longer. The location is amazing, about 10 minutes walk from the Colosseum also very... More

Can't say enough about Mary Bell B&B! Andrea is a great host! His recommendations for local eating and helping to arrange transportation to Fiumicino was outstanding! Great location, everything in Rome is easily accessible by either bus, tram or underground! I have stayed in Rome 12 previous times and Mary Bell has the best air conditioning! We had 3 rooms,... It's not easy to find good value and high-quality accommodation in Rome, but Mary Bell B&B ticked almost all the boxes. It's close to Termini station, but is located within easy walking distance on a wide street, the Via Merulana, with plenty of people around so we felt safe walking to and from the B&B after dark as well as... Mary Bell is ideal for families as they have quadruple rooms with bunk beds, good solid air condition and wifi! The kitchen has a great coffee maker and we were provided with fresh bread, croissants, jams, crackers and extra packaged foods we could use throughout the day if needed. The hosts are responsive, extremely helpful and also gave us great... More

Mary Bell B&B is in an ideal location for the Colleseum being about a 10/15 minutes walk away. The rooms were spacious, and clean. We stayed in a triple room with a private en suite which for the price was perfect! Andrea the host was fantastic! Very accommodating and easy to get in touch with through whatsapp or email. Breakfast... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
