We visited Rome in November and were greeted with warm sunny days during our four night stay. The hotel is located on a small unassuming side street in a good area which is a great in regards to traffic and noise, very little on this street. We chose this hotel because of its location and its quality and it did... More

We have a preference for boutique hotels, so we have a good range of experiences to benchmark the "first art hotel" - it is one of the best we have stayed in. We would definitely recommend it and we will definitely stay there again when we return to Rome in the future.

What can I say other than "The First hotel" helped make our weekend in Rome perfect! Having spent a long term researching hotels for our stay "The First" stood out amongst the best and having stayed I can see why! Before even arriving I had emails from Concierge seeing if there was anything they could do to help during our... More

If you can afford 600 per night USD, then you must stay here...no other statements. The staff is impeccable, the hotel is beautiful, the restaurant accommodating, delectable, impressive, breathtaking and just perfect. We stayed at Portrait Suites two years ago and, so coincidentally, my husband, me and the concierge recognized each other during check in. This was totally uncanny, but... More

This is one of the best hotel experiences that I've had in Europe! The staff are friendly, conscientious, yet not overbearing. The hotel is beautiful and full of interesting contemporary Italian art. I came here for my anniversary and everyone went out of their way to make it a memorable occasion. My room was luxurious, clean, and exactly what you... More

A nice hotel in a good area. The service was good, the location very nice near the main shopping area and the hotel is well maintained. For us, however, the rooms were too small to the point of almost being uncomfortable. I think the hotel does a very nice job, and has a great restaurant, but we won't return, only... More

We are just about to check out from this lovely hotel after four nights. It is a little gem located down an assuming side street in a great location that makes it easy to walk to all the major attractions. Staff was soooo helpful. They helped us arrange a private guide for the Vatican by the name of Claudia. She taught us so many things and was the best decision since it was quite overwhelming. The rooms were so large and they had a wonderful roof top deck. You litterly could walk to everything.

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
