Myself and my husband had chosen the Gran Melia for a little get away break after our wedding and it didn't disappoint! Upon arrival we were told we had been upgraded to a Junior suite on the top floor with magnificent views both over Rome and the Vatican. The little touches such as chocolate covered strawberries, a bottle of Prosecco... More

Stayed as a couple in September 2014. In terms of location, the Gran Melia is fairly convenient, located around 10 minutes walking from St Peter's and about 30 minutes by taxi from the airport (Fiumicino). Later it cost us about 12 euros and 15 minutes to reach Termini via taxi in traffic. It is slightly further from other attractions--about 15... More

The hotel provides a resort like feel located near enough [€10 taxi) to the main city sites. So anticipated best of both worlds. In general my expectation was met. The reception staff where friendly and accommodating, the pool team and porters both very helpful. The room was fine but not exceptional The hotel is located on a hill so we... More

Friendly personal and alway's very helpfull. Bteakfast was very good and lots to choose from. When they learned that we were on our honeymoon, we also received a lot of suprises. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, we had a great time in Rome. Fam. van Lelieveld 03-09 / 07-09 2014

Recently stayed at the Grand Melia Rome and LOVED it! The staff is very friendly and so helpful, the rooms were impeccable! And the food was amazing! Who would have thought you could get a resort hotel in the middle of Rome? It was so relaxing after a day of sightseeing or shopping to sit by the lovely pool. And... More

We just came back from our excellent stay at Gran Melia Rome. We had a lovely stay in this hotel, everything was perfect, the room, the staff, the location, we relaxed a lot, it seems to be as in a resort, not in a city. We enjoyed the wonderful pool in the garden and we had the opportunity to enjoy the... More

Highly recommend the Red Level experience, they've combined white glove level service with the luxury of the red carpet for Red Glove concept - it's divine. The property is in a prime location, has the feel of an ultra luxury boutique hotel with resort amenities. I found my home in Rome!

We've just finished a fantastic week in Rome. The hotel is located across the river from the city, quite close to The Vatican. The only draw back is the rather steep hill you have to negotiate. That aside, as a wheelchair user, I found the hotel welcoming and accommodating. We had a small suite, which had a wheel-in wet room,... More

Great accommodations. Great food. Wonderful atmosphere and superb service. Site is splendid. Spa was so relaxing...we were there for the creation of cardinals in February 2014. Really close walk to St Peter's Basilica and a short taxi ride to best shopping. Quiet location. Bar/restaurant had nice ambiance. Nice drinks, good wines, cozy and fun. All amenities, felt really pampered. Mix... More

I have stayed in many memorable five star hotels around the world, (The Leela Palace in New Delhi , India is a perfect example.), that were truly 5 star experiences. The Gran Melia is NOT. We have a lovely suite with a hot tub that does NOT work. We have the Red level service, that allows entry into their club... More
