Beautiful hotel, an array of sights and smells. Aromatherapy for the soul. Sumptuous rooms, deep relaxing bath and wonderful food. Excellent service and an unforgettable spa experience. A great base to see the sights of Rome. Only a short walk to The Vatican and some of the most amazing ice creams to be eaten in the world. An excellent shuttle... More

The Gran Melia Agrippina in Rome, Trastevere, is completely recommendable. Modern chill out swimmingpool in the atmosphere of a palazzo. Perfectly located minutes away from the Vatican, Piazza della Rovere and Amadeo di Saboya bridge. The rooms are nice with modern swimming pool and good size.

Good points....The location of this hotel is excellent as it is close enough for an easy stroll to the Vatican, and a free shuttle service is also good as it takes guests closer to the older parts of the city. The staff seem invariably friendly and smiling. During our visit in April, there was ample space around the pool and... More

Amazing place next to walls of Vatican. Super friendly staff. Everyone greets you and happy to help. Rooms are beautiful. Has private patio you can see Saint Angel Castle from, and shuttle to the city (complimentary). Some rooms have view on city of Vatican. Highly recommended.

We chose this hotel because a friend recommended the Trastevere area. This was perfect for sightseeing and also for going out to eat in the evenings. The hotel was luxurious with really friendly staff. I mentioned it was our 30th wedding anniversary and we were surprised to receive a bottle of sparkling wine, chocolate covered strawberries and pistachio pastries as... More

My wife and I, while visiting our daughter attending school in Rome, enjoyed our room, amenities and service until we headed to the pool. They would not allow our daughter to lounge at the pool for a few hours because she was not a guest of the hotel..how ridiculous. On top of that, they would not allow drinks and snacks... More

This hotel is 5 star, and you will pay 5 * prices. We stayed for 3 nights in March, just before Easter and the main reason we stayed here, was that the hotel had a spa with an indoor pool within the spa area. The first evening we stayed, it was emptied and was shut for the entire length of... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
