If you want to be walking distance form the major sites in Rome, then do not overlook this gem. A true 5* hotel located in the very Centre of Rome. Service and attention to detail was exceptional and the staff were excellent. Having an outdoor pool for the hot afternoons (after the site seeing) was fantastic, although there were limited... We booked "breakfast included" and were only allowed to serve us at the buffet. This buffet was definitely not a 5 star experience. Eggs any style you could get for an extra charge. I have never made such an experience in a 5 star hotel.

Just returned from the gran melia, rome where we spent eight nights with friends. The property is beautiful and the decor in the rooms quite stunning, especially the bathrooms with glass walls! The service was excellent at all times and hotel is kept very clean and tidy. However, this hotel needs to change quite a few things. Firstly, I believe that... More

We stayed at the Gran Melia Rome because it was part of our tour package with Adventures by Disney. Overall, the rooms we had were comfortable even with their quirks. The things that could be fixed were: 1) More electrical outlets in the rooms 2) Better wifi (wifi didn't work at all in one of our rooms when the door... More

在歐洲來說,這應該是最適合家庭旅遊的好飯店吧!房間的大小剛剛好,不會太小,小孩也有自己的空間,除了小孩的床小了點,但是有小孩的獨立空間是很棒的。 A great hotel with a perfect size for family trip tho the kids bed is a bit small but a private space for kids is a plus for both parents and kid. Very relax and cozy atmosphere.

Great location, good facilities (including a fantastic pool for a city hotel). Breakfast was consistently good. However service is a bit 'big hotel' - it took ages to check out and the bill was wrong, which took an inordinate amount of time to fix. The 'red level' extras all seemed to be a bit meh, would prefer a decent cocktail... More

Gorgeous hotel with a large pool! Frankly, this hotel is way too pricey for me but we stayed here as part of our adventures by disney tour and we were not disappointed. The property is gorgeous, service excellent and food delicious. Very near to Vatican and Castel sant Angelo and trastevere. In fact, one of our favorite things was walking... More

yes this hotel is expensive, but its worth it. having the pool, unheard of in downtown rome, is huge. the hot summer temps in rome made the pool a great break at mid day. the location is very good, short walks or fairly cheap cab rides to the vatican or anywhere else in downtown , our most expensive ride was... After a messy start due to misunderstanding between Booking.com and the hotel we had to complain to management. After that our stay was great. Very nice breakfast buffet (with special table for children), relaxing pool area, good restaurant and nice rooms.

We were looking for a hotel that would make a Rome trip in the hot month of July still an enjoyable experience. After staying 7 nights at the Gran Melia I can confirm that we got exactly what we were looking for. Let's start with the positives. The location is excellent. Everything that Rome has to offer is still in... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
