Rome is an ancient city, full of surprises. The ones I don't like are hotels that sell themselves incredibly on line (Italians are good at selling anything, we all know that) and then surprise, it's everything you did not wish for (meaning small, cramped quarters, no perks and heavens! the noise!). However, if you think like an archaelogist, you can... More

New design hotel. Big, modern rooms. Great bathroom. Clarins cosmetics. Nespresso coffe maschine in the room. Nice and friendly staff. During our stay the swimming pool was closed. Also had problems with light in room and ac didnt work good - just turned it off at night. To piazza navona 15 minutes walk, spanish steps 25 minutes away. Go up... More

Stayed here for 3 nights, booked a deluxe double but due to teething problems with the air con, we were upgraded to a much bigger room, with a bath and walk in closet!! This was done without hesitation and the staff (Johnny) were very apologetic. The main sights were a short pleasent walk over the bridge, with St Peters and... More

nicely situated with views of the city and within easy walking distance of the sights. Breakfast was good and the room, although not huge was comfortable. The staff were very helpful. The hotel had just opened and there were one or two minor teething problems but nothing too major,

We stayed at the the Grand Melia from April 20th, departed April 24th, we are a family of 4, the children are 17 & 10. From the time we arrived the staff were exceptional, going out of their way to be helpful and informative, special mention to Thiago-what a guy!. Coming from NZ this is a highly priced hotel but... The best hotel I ever stayed at! The garden was gorgeous - I can still smell the lemon trees... The room was arranged very light and modern and was super clean. The service was simply perfect with a staff who couldn't do enough for us 24/7! I would also like to thank Saif who really was great. The view from... More

Worth it. Love it. Excellent. An absolutely beautiful hotel, in a very good location with staff caring for you 24/7. They greet you with a smiling "Buon giorno" touching their heart - such a nice and warm gesture, every time you meet... Nice to return to birds singing in the beautiful garden after a day in Romes huzzle and buzzle.... More

This was an excellent place to stay in Rome! The hotel was gorgeous and clean and the staff could not do enough for us! Make sure to try the little cafe at the bottom of the hill across the street! Excellent and cheap! One thing about the hotel, although beautiful and great service- the food and drinks were very expensive.... More
