My husband and I started our Italy trip in Rome for 5 nights. We were thrilled with our choice of this hotel. Our room was a nice size, right off the lobby/breakfast area. The food was more than adequate and the staff throughout our stay couldn't do enough to help us find our way. The first night we chose to... More

Actually we were happy with our visit on Hotel Italia but there are some improvement areas about it. The location of the hotel is very good because it is almost in the middle of the city and Termini. However the wifi connections and sleep quality were on average. Receptionists are very kind and friendly. Lastly if you are going to... More

We loved the location and staff of this hotel when we first found it (thanks, TA) six years ago. At that time, we stayed 3 nights. This time, we just had one night. Yes, this is a 2-star hotel, but we don't need the huge room and papering amenities of the higher stars. The location is perfect for us, as... More

This is a very nice Family hotel. Owner Andrea Valentini and his Mom and staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great, with nice restaurants right across the street and around the corner. Grocery store nearby and an ATM. The room was OK and the bed/bathroom were good. Good Wifi. TV with no English speaking channels, we watched... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2015

This is the 3rd time we've stayed here and we'll come back should we visit Rome again. The only reason it's a 2 star rating is because it is a small unobtrusive hotel without the so called luxuries I don't need anyway. It's clean, modernised, very well run by staff that couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Breakfast is simple... More

We stayed in one of the recently redecorated superior rooms in the Residenzia. Wow! Even a small alcove for relaxing. As always, the desk staff is helpful, informative and friendly. The breakfast is great and the servers outgoing and personable. The location is extremely convenient for buses, metro and walkable to major sights.

This hotel is very well situated in the heart of Rome. There are more charming places to stay in Rome, but this isn't too shabby... and is spitting distance to most places you want to go to, either by foot or by bus/metro/taxi. It's also just the right distance from Termini (close enough to walk to, but far away enough... More

Well, Hotel Italia (2 stars) is far better than the others (2 stars and some with lousy services) which I have stayed around in Europe. I had a 4-nights stay here. Everything was perfect for me as I spent most time outdoor enjoying Rome. The location is very close to the Termini bus stop from the Fiumicino airport... approx. 10min... More

We stayed here for 2 nigts. It is a very simple and old fashion decorated hotel. Staff was nice and location was perfect.we walked pretty much everywhere. If you will be outside all day and come to hotel just for sleeping that's a great choice for you. Otherwise you can find better and nicely decorated hotels in the city.

We were in Rome for a short vacation in january and stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. For us good location of hotel and easy access to sights is a must when you are in Rome for short amount of time. Hotel Italia is definitely on great location, perfect for getting around by foot, bus or metro. The hotel... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
