We were in Rome for a short vacation in january and stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. For us good location of hotel and easy access to sights is a must when you are in Rome for short amount of time. Hotel Italia is definitely on great location, perfect for getting around by foot, bus or metro. The hotel... More

Staff were very friendly giving advice on what to do for the day. Rooms cleaned every day spotlessly so we were always looking forward to coming back after a long day. Its a small hotel and is situated right beside the main street and a Spar for all your daily essentials.

Rome is such a wonderful city full of fabulous experiences and would make for an incredible trip, unfortunately Hotels like this are where holidays go to die. The room was nice despite being put across the street and had a myriad of problems only exacerbated by the problems with some of the staff. The showers were cold, for the entire... More

Dear Guest , I'm sorry for the inconvenience regarding the WIFI ; It's been sorted now by a new potent Internet provider . Same thing for hot water ( now fixed ) . Although this we were very willing to help 'cause as you know I was over to your room many times during your stay . I'm really surprised... More

Stayed here in October for 2 nights and can't say I would really recommend it. Service was poor, internet was lousy, toilet was broken, there was no toilet roll holder (very awkward), breakfast couldn't really be called breakfast, house keeping do not read Do Not Disturb signs and due to the old look in the room it looked extremely dirty... This hotel has excellent location. We have been to Rome 5 years earlier and stayed there and enjoyed the service and quality and price. We had a family reunion in Tuscany and Rome was our initial meeting spot. The owner was very accommodating for our demands as it was 7 of us ! Will book there next time we are... More

The only good thing we can say about this hotel was the location. Besides that our experience was horrendous. Because of the dusty room my girlfriend suffered an asthma attack the very first night. The bathroom was the smallest we've ever seen. The shower was so small that you couldn't stretch half an arm without touching a wall. The water... More

Great location! Great price! The wifi was weak in our room, but that's my only complaint. I'm planning another trip to Rome summer of 2015, and I will definitely stay here again. Close to main train station.

Don't expect 4 or 5 start luxury. That is not what this hotel is about. Do expect friendly, welcoming English speaking staff who want to welcome you into their centrally located, comfortable hotel. Location is about a 10 minute walk from the Termini (just off Via Nazionale). In the other direction, you are about 10 minutes from the Colossium. The... More

This is a small privately owned hotel. I stayed in Room 64 on the third floor. The lift was very small, old and slow; and, this was the only significant negative. Breakfast was not extravagant, but it was adequate. Room 64 was large, clean and quiet. The shower was small but not unreasonably small (unless you are a large and... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
