We just got back from a two week stay in Italy for our honeymoon, first five nights at the Kolbe in Rome. Being new to Europe didn't know what to expect but was amazed by the quality of the hotel. I had only heard horror stories about cramped, dirty rooms in Europe for under $300 a night. Theses rooms are... more

Its well placed for the Forum and Colloseum (10 mins) Pantheon, Trevi fountain (20 -25 mins) Vatican 30 minn walk and the Villa Borghesi - well worth the effort 40 mins This is a fine modern Hotel, but it is in a big city , so book a garden facing room to avoid road noise, The rooms are modern, clean... more

The Kolbe was comfortable, and clean. Breakfast on the outside patio was enjoyable ,and was generously filled with most all you could want. Rooms are indeed clinical and high teck, though internet service was as usual (most of italy) useless! The hotel is quite a bit of the beaten track, and requires a vigourous walk to most of romes sites.... more

We stayed here for a week, after our timeshare had moved us there from the previous location that was being renovated. After our red eye flight from the U.S. we arrived at 10:00 a.m. and were able to check in right away. We went right to the room and unpacked and decided to take a nap only to find we... more

We were a family of five who paid for our Hotel Kolbe stay on AMEX points. At reception, we were informed by a surly woman (who kept smiling during all the bad news -- as if she enjoyed hammering us) that our request for the quiet back side of the hotel could not be accomodated. We arrived at 7pm, and... more

Nice, clean hotel, but we weren't impressed. The front desk was checking on stuff for us and we had to remind them who we were every time. The rooms were small and showers unbelievably tiny and internet was not free. I stayed at the River Palace the next week and it was like night and day. The location is a... more

We just returned last night to our home in the U.S. after staying 3 nights at the Kolbe Hotel. We thought it was marvelous. It had strong and working air conditioning, which was very close to the top of our list in items of importance due to the very strong heat we dealt with while in Italy. The hotel is... more

This was the BEST surprise of all the hotels my husband and I have stayed in during all of our stays overseas. The breakfast was superior. Evening meals, though pricey, were worth every penny. The service was outstanding and the room was beyond our expectation. The location, though a little hard to find at first, was perfect for walking trips... more

The hotel is perfectly situated within the ancient quarter and a 10 minute walk from the capitolione piazza and also the roman forum. The hotel is very quiet, peaceful and a great place to relax after a busy day in the hot bustling city. Although there are limited restaurants around the hotel, only a 15 min walk will take you... more

We had a wonderful start at the Kolbe Hotel of our Italian vacation. We stayed in Rome for five days. The family room was perfect for us and our two teenage daughters. They loved the fact that they had their own TV in their loft! Breakfast was wonderful! Near ancient ruins but quite a distance to the stores near the... more
