we followed some reviews on here and were apprehensive, little did we know how silly we were. we were greeted at Ciampino by the bubbly and knowledgeable Katia who , along with her stylish fiancé Paulo, drove us to our destination. Well worth paying the extra for the transport provided as Katia gave us a little mini tour on the... More

Very nice B&B in a great location. Friendly and helpful owners, clean and spacious room with very comfortable bed. We had the only room without balcony but got the balcony at kitchen instead. Simple but good breakfast with fresh warm croissants. Like staying at home :)

Rome was the last stop of my week long Italian adventure with my sister and the best part of our entire trip! Thanks to B&B Zen Trastevere! It is in an extremely ideal location, a 3 minute walk to the restaurants and bars of Trastevere, one of Rome's best nightlife areas. At the same time, the apartment style B&B was... More

The good - excellent location - within walking distance to wonderful restaurants and a great shopping market and coffee/bakery next door. The bad - I do agree with Rubybouvier's review - it is a hostel! The walls are paper thin - luckily the couple next door were quiet. The bathroom is the smallest I've seen in Europe. The breakfast is... More

Unfortunately the answer I give to previous Guest about the phone line issues is not yet publish, So I will again repeat that for one week our land line was not working, we pressure the phone company to fix it soon as possible but It took about one week for them to fix it, With out a land... Davide is a lovely person, as is his sister. The location is excellent. Very central spot in Trastavere and it's also quiet and has a small balcony for each room. Now for the rest... The internet connection didn't work, the phone was out of service, the breakfast was inedible and the coffee maker was broken, so there was only lukewarm,... More

Great B&B in a neighbourhood packed with restaurants and, if you like walking, in walking distance of many of the major sites. We had the red room which was clean and spacious with a nice firm bed. I loved the balcony even though it was still a bit too chilly to sit there for long. The owners are very friendly... More

We chose the Trastevere neighborhood and B&B Zen based on the great reviews we saw online, and neither disappointed us! B&B Zen is a little gem - clean, comfortable, reasonable, and best of all - great service! It is family-owned and run by Davide, Desiree, and Katia, all of whom were super friendly and helpful. They gave great recos on... More

We wanted to visit Rome and one of our friends suggested to stay in Trastevere. We searched for a friendly and charming place to stay and we decided to stay at Zen. We were delighted with the choice: the b&b is located at the heart of the neighbourhood, perfect to visit Trastevere. We loved it the area. The room was... More

I researched places to stay extensively while planning our trip to Rome. Based on Trip Advisor reviews I chose Zen B&B in Trastevere. I am beyond delighted with the selection. I emailed Davide with every question that crossed my mind for months. He answered me quickly and graciously each time. He picked us up at Fiumicino Airport at 7am and... More

The room with balcony was good; we enjoyed having our breakfast every morning on our balcony, or drinking a glass of wine after a day visiting Rome. The facilities were good and well-equiped and the colors of the room were bright. The location couldn't be better in my opinion: close to numerour bars, restaurants in Trastevere, and the highlights are... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
