In short, stay elsewhere. Rome has so many hotels that are better yet still affordable, it is surprising this one is still in business. Most reviewers say "Good for the money", or "Not so bad". We were a bit worried going to pisana palace from some of the reviews we had seen but were pleasantly surprised. The hotel itself is a bit old but is undergoing a massive refurbishment so the reception is all new and modern. It is old, the carpet smells, but I am extremely sensitive to smells. Lots of space in our room. The hotel is going thru a major remodeling. The day we left the a/c was completely cut off, and it was horrible! They told me the remodeling should be completed by September 2008. it is taking up the hotel chain name... more

This hotel was absolutly horrific. It is being renovated, so there is scaffolding everywhere. the staff was not very helpful with directions. When you walk into the hotel, there are stains all over the carpet. The rooms are tiny, the air did not work. It was a huge disappointment.
