Stayed at the Dei Mellini for 4 nights on a sight seeing trip to Rome. The hotel is well placed to visit all the major attractions, which are within walking distance so long as you don't mind a bit of a hike. On arrival we were met by a friendly receptionist who provided us with a map of the area... More

Visited via BA holidays to watch Wales v Italy rugby. Great value as a package and within walking distance of the main tourist sites. Would recommend for a short trip to Rome even though we only had a few hours sleep whilst there due to the many attractions Rome has to offer during a rugby weekend

Located two blocks from the Tiber on the Vatican side of the river this hotel offers easy access to many of the sites of Rome. The Vatican is a 25 minute walk away as is the Pantheon. Of course there are many other historical sites to see in between. The Colosseum is about 40 minutes by foot so you may... More

Very nice hotel, room was very spacious and cleaned to a high standard. I do think it was a little expensive, maybe too expensive but great location pretty central and only a short walk to many of the big attractions. Would recommend and I would stay there again. Only real negative was the quality of the WiFi which I found... More

Really enjoyed our 2 days in Rome based at this hotel. Great location within walk to Metro to access all sights if you don't feel like walking. Great restaurants close by. Staff very nice, breakfast set you up for a busy day of sightseeing. AC worked well, with the temperatures pushing 40 that was a godsend. Nice quiet rooms.

Rather than staying in a chain hotel we wanted a hotel that represented Italy. Hotel dei Mellini was charming with all the amenities. The front desk staff (Roberta - or Rebecca as some people call her) was very helpful, friendly and very prompt each time we stepped up to the front desk. Very clean room, very comfortable bedding. Great location... More

We visited as a group of 10 and Hotel Dei Mellini served as our launching point for our visit to Rome. It was a very nice stay for us all with a wonderful staff who attended to our every need. I highly recommend this hotel for any type of visit to Rome.

Room was extremely comfortable and spacious. Bed comfortable. Staff excellent and friendly. Good location for Vatican. Other guests were friendly too - which makes a difference when travelling solo. Typically Italian - there was a complimentary bottle of Prosecco in the room (which was very good) but you have to pay for the water! Also complimentary fruit bowl. Breakfast was... More

For a first stay in Rome we couldn't really have found a better base. Short walking distances to all the major sights no more than 30/40 minutes to the Colloseum, 15 minutes to The Vatican. If you want somewhere that gives a bit of peace and quiet (great air con too) after the heat and crowds this is for you...... More

The rooms here are comfortable and the AC works incredibly well. Bathrooms are sparkling clean and staff is helpful. The only real negative is the breakfast which is not up to a 4 star Italian hotel standard. Mostly commercially produced pastries and poor quality eggs; coffee was not up to Italian standards either. That said, it is a good hotel... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
