We stayed at this hotel for a week and were very comfortable there. We had a front room with a balcony over the street. A little noisy with the window open but fine with it closed. The room and bath were spotless. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly, competent and helpful. If we went back to Rome, we would absolutely... More

We stayed in Hotel Mascagni for 3 nights on an Anniversary trip to Rome, booked via a tour group (Costco Travel). The room we were in in 507, was small, but very comfortable and efficient. The bath was good too, good water pressure and lots of hot water, plenty of fresh soft towels. The street noise is there and it... More

This hotel has a great location close to the Termini station. It is so clean and is full of character. The breakfast was fantastic and set you up for the day. The only down side was the size of rooms. If you are travelling in a party of more than one then definitely book more rooms as more than 2... More

We enjoyed the hotel overall. It was conveniently located and the staff were all very friendly. We had two rooms side by side that were clean and had the amenities we were looking for in a hotel. The bar staff was superb. The breakfast had a good variety and the staff were great at getting drink orders (coffee or tea)... More

First things first, stayed here 3 years ago and gave it 5 stars. So what changed? Well, we had contacted the hotel a few times before just to ask if there were any family rooms available at the back of the hotel. No view but quieter. We were assured we would get one. We were also nicely told that as we... More

Stayed here last year. The staff were so friendly and the room was fab. would highly recommend this hotel for its location and comfort. I plan to return to Rome and it will be here that i stay. The little touches made it special like the staff knowing our names. We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking fountains.... More

A very chic hotel in a great area with some nice family restaurants. There is a small bar area in the lobby. This hotel was very cosmopolitan to me. Our room was pleasant. It was large by NYC standards. The service was very friendly. The elevator was very small though. And the complimentary breakfast in the morning was a nice... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
