Great Location! Close to Piazza d Republica. 10 minute walk to train station and hop on hop off buses start from opposite train station. The Piazza has lots of food options for lunch and dinner. Breakfast at the hotel was average - normal European style breakfast (Marco P at the Restaurant was extremely helpful with tourist information for us) Staff... More

My partner and I visited Rome during January 2016 and stayed at the Mascagni. We found it to be excellent in every way. The bedroom was large and furnished to a high standard and the bathroom had everything we could have asked for; there was even a weighing scale which we avoided!! Although our room faced the busy road there... More

We really enjoyed our 7-day stay at the Mascagni. The staff all did their utmost to make our days good. Everyone was friendly, smiling and spoke good English. The room was nothing special - but everything worked! Excellent protection from street noise. We were upgraded to a Superior room without charge. Excellent breakfast buffet with something for everyone's taste.

Close to Termini main rail-station and very close to Repubblica metro station. The room was clean as well as the bathroom. No coat hanger in the room. I could find only one pretty hidden plug to recharge my smartphone/laptop. The TV was not working very well with only a handfull of TV channes really working. The bathroom was a bit... More

The problem with this hotel is that because because you're in Italy, most of the people you will come into contact are used to telling you a story which is hardly ever is factual. For example, the triple room we booked was really a small double room with a crammed third bed; when we complained, then we got the "oh... More

It is the staff at Hotel Mascagni that makes this hotel outstanding. We arrived on December 22nd after being in Palermo for three days and were greeted warmly by the front desk agent. Angelo took our family to our 3 rooms and showed us around - he was on hand it seemed at any time day or night throughout our... More

No matter who was working, they did everything they could to help us find somewhere to go and point out places of interest. The breakfast was amazing! Servers are SO courteous/gracious and are dressed so professionally....Very pleasant to start out... More

We were only in Rome for 2 days and this hotel was very convenient to the train station upon our arrival from Florence. The front desk staff was very nice and helped us get orientated when we arrived. We did not spend much time in our room as there was so much to see in such a short time. One... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
