Stayed here with my daughter. Very well situated hotel near lots of restaurants and near the terminus for metro and the hop on hop off bus. Staff very helpful. Fairly quiet. Rooms a bit small, but adequate. Kettle and coffee provided, despite not being mentioned on hotel website. Could do with some extra power points as we had difficulty recharging... More

This hotel located in the heart of Rome provided a very homey feeling. The staff makes everyone feel like part of their family. It gives you an authentic experience of Italian living. We would definitely stay here again!!

Having stopped here previously back in 2007 i was amazed to find on our arrival that time has done it well and its even better than before. From the friendly collection at the airport to the very warm welcome checking in, you can not fault anything. Ideally located near the Republicca Square for the Metro and Main Station, there are... This hotel is in a great location, walking distance to train station so no need for taxi. Walking distance to all historical sites other than the Vatican. Great restaurant recommendations by the staff that were also within walking distance. Staff was very, very helpful and nice. Continental breakfast was also good with hot food as well as cold. The rooms... More

On arrival at Termini railway station it was only a 10-15 minute walk to the hotel. Our welcome at Mascagni was warm and fuss free. The porter showed us to our room and explained that we were lucky to have a quiet room at the back of the hotel, still with a view of a lovely view of a church... More

This hotel is well-located in Rome, just a block or two from the main train station. As you would expect from a very old building, the elevator is tiny and slow. Most rooms are ok, but there are some that are ridiculously small. Whatever you do, DONT accept room 508 - only. 6 year old child would fell comfortable in... More

Staff was very friendly and helpful. They made good suggestions for dinner as well as shopping. The lounge was quaint and Daniel was very informative and pleasant to chat with. The breakfast was good but also didn't have as many offerings as other hotels we stayed at in Italy. Nice staff and clean rooms. We enjoyed our stay and would... More

Stayed here for 4 nights. Beautiful hotel. Staff are very welcoming, warm and friendly. The hotel is modern, unique and is in a perfect location. There is a continental breakfast with enough choice and Marco is lovely to speak to. Staff there locate you a table and nothing is too much trouble. Termini is only a few minutes away. A... More

Having booked a package trip of London, Paris, and Rome, this was the smallest of our three rooms and yet it was our favorite. The staff and hotel are small in size but service and hospitality was not lacking. A pleasant 20 minute walk from the old city, my wife and I took a leisurely stroll to begin our exploration... We booked this hotel through a Costco travel package. The whole trip was great but this hotel, and proximity to many attractions, really kick started our first trip to Europe. The room was well appointed, large enough for three adults, and had a firm bed. It was close to the metro and a five-minute walk to the Rome termini to... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
