We stayed at the Hotel Mascagni from 20Nov to 28Nov and enjoyed our entire stay. We were warmly greeted by Mr. Luciano and used him as our "go to" person our whole stay. He have us tour recommendations and AMAZING restaurant recommendations. We bonded with Luciano but everyone at the front desk were very helpful. Daniel at the bar is... More

A wonderful six night stay at this hotel. We had a second floor room with balcony overlooking a busy street. We enjoyed opening the door to the patio and absorbing the sights and sounds of the city. Close to the train station and Metro station. An ideal location. The staff was outstanding, the breakfast had something for everyone's taste and... More

Absolutely gorgeous cosy place to stay! Adorable staff especially Simona at the reception who helped us so much, very professional and friendly person! Brilliant location of the hotel, 2 mins walk from the Termini station, metro just outside the hotel less than 1 min walk, nice shops, cafe and restaurants in the area. The hotel itself very modern, very clean... More

This hotel was in a very central location and convenient in that there were many restaurants nearby within walking distance. The front desk staff was extremely helpful in every way. They were able to make some restaurant suggestions that proved to be great choices. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was great!

This was my 6th visit to Rome (my dad's 1st visit). The staff at hotel Mascagni were eager to help us with all questions we had regarding museums, restaurants (recommending a fantastic bistro two-three streets away) and hotel questions. The room was a decent size (not huge), and well furnished. Bathroom was excellent although the shower did leak a little... More

This was our first visit to Rome, the Hotel staff are extremely helpful. Especially Daniel in the bar, he was most helpful in advising us on where to go, how to get there and given our limited time in Rome (3 days). The whole staff are there to assist as needed, rooms are very clean and tidy. The location is... More

We were very pleased with the accommodations, the breakfast, and staff. The rooms are very spacious by European standards and well appointed. Close to the train terminal and the subway. We'd definitely come back to this hotel.

Hotel is central for sightseeing & staff terrific Pros: The staff, it's location, the cleanliness, breakfast and cocktails in the bar. The staff could not be more helpful and courteous whilst unobtrusive. Cons: If there could be any improvement it would be to add a dining facility as the hotel was excellent at everything else this could only be a... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
