Stayed 3 nights here in February. Had a room at front with a balcony. Very clean and recently refurbished. Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast. Ideal location for train station and within walking distance of most of tourist attractions.

The hotel is in a good location near the Termini and a short walk to Piazza Barberini. There are a number of good restaurants nearby. The rooms are clean and the staff courteous. The rooms were very small and the mattresses were very firm, something that bothered both my wife and daughter. There were also limited outlets in the bedroom... More

We stayed at this charming hotel last Nov (2014). It was small, quaint, and in an extremely convenient location. The hotel is perfect for the price we paid. Rooms were a little smaller expected but still satisfactory and clean. The free breakfast that was provided wasn't anything too fancy; the usual juices, milk, cereals, eggs, cooked meats, cold cuts and... More

This hotel has the perfect location. It's close to the Metro, walking distance to a lot of tourist attractions and has a Taxi stand right outside. The room is clean, nicely decorated and most of all the balcony was a very nice touch. What makes this hotel special is their professional, friendly and informative staff. They even gave us complimentary... More

We stayed at this hotel for a week and were very comfortable there. We had a front room with a balcony over the street. A little noisy with the window open but fine with it closed. The room and bath were spotless. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly, competent and helpful. If we went back to Rome, we would absolutely... More

We stayed in Hotel Mascagni for 3 nights on an Anniversary trip to Rome, booked via a tour group (Costco Travel). The room we were in in 507, was small, but very comfortable and efficient. The bath was good too, good water pressure and lots of hot water, plenty of fresh soft towels. The street noise is there and it... More

This hotel has a great location close to the Termini station. It is so clean and is full of character. The breakfast was fantastic and set you up for the day. The only down side was the size of rooms. If you are travelling in a party of more than one then definitely book more rooms as more than 2... More

We enjoyed the hotel overall. It was conveniently located and the staff were all very friendly. We had two rooms side by side that were clean and had the amenities we were looking for in a hotel. The bar staff was superb. The breakfast had a good variety and the staff were great at getting drink orders (coffee or tea)... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
