First Marco and his staff are exceptional at breakfast. Marco has a lot of knowledge concerning Rome and is very helpful. Breakfast was great! The front desk is very helpful especially during the week. Be aware there is a 6 dollar per day, per person charge that gets added to your bill when you check out. This is a Rome... More

Marco and his staff makes this Hotel. Best breakfast and information! Very nice people overall. Basically a excellent 3 star hotel. They do charge an additional 6 per person tax. One of the bartender was exceptional during the week. It fell off a bit when he wasn't there. A lot of the people were proud Romans with great information.

I was traveling to Rome with my two teenage kids, one of whom is autistic. I stayed at this hotel for two nights at the beginning of my trip, then took a short trip to the Amalfi coast with the intent to come back for one final night here afterwards. I let them know of my plans and had even... More

We stayed 6 nights and were very pleased. The staff at the breakfast room were simply wonderful! Marco made delisous hot chocolate for my non-coffee drinking son. The hotel was well located, easy to get to sites. Room was a good size with comfortable beds. Could add conditioner to the toiletries provided.

We stayed for 3 nights. First the positives, hotel is centrally located and within 10 minutes of walking you can hit the central tourist square (Spanish steps/Trevi) or the Rome station. Service is good and the breakfast is reasonable. On the negatives. We had booked a quad room and it was really small (we stayed in 2 more properties in... More

I am handicapped. Rome is not very handicapped friendly. This made difficult to get a Round. Hotel had many steps to climb, very difficult. Staff was moderately helpful. Rooms were adequate size by European standard. Breakfast was the same every day but staff was very accommodating. Location was centrally located. Other than the sanl handicap problem it's an okay hotel.

We spent 3 nights at the Mascagni in early June. The hotel is tastefully furnished and our room was very stylish although small in size. The location was excellent for exploring Rome and the Termini was in easy walking distance, even with our cases. The staff were helpful and professional and the breakfasts were very good with ample choices and great... More

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary with a trip to Rome. We like boutique hotels and this one was perfect. The daily breakfast with Marco as our waiter was fantastic. We also enjoyed the happy hour with Daniel who was very courteous and professional. Our room was good size and quiet. Overall- the hotel is very well run.... More

We met at this hotel flying in as two separate groups. Our first group was greeted warmly and shown to their room early by the staff. When our second group arrived they were greeted the same way. The staff was so friendly and cared about their guests. They were there to answer any questions and give directions or dining suggestions.... More

We really liked this hotel. We searched for a hotel with a good value and found a deal for 80€ per night at this hotel. It situated in the center of rome, close to Republica metro station which offers great connections to the whole city. We found the room spacious clean and in a good size. The bathroom was modern.... Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
