After taking payment in full the hotel cheated us by placing us in a different hotel, Hotel Blu. There was no free wifi. Even the paid wifi worked only near the hotel reception and not un the rooms. There was no running water in the bathroom starting from the night between our 1st and 2nd day. The staff was no... More

The booked hotel was originally from Hotel Soujournou blu but we were placed to this Hotel instead. The stay was a complete rip off. It says on the booking continental breakfast but all you get is a drink and 1 piece of pastry. All the amenities were not working such as aircon asked for a remote only to find out... More

Booked this hotel seeing 3star, but this is a simple scam or rip off. They did not even have a front desk, no service, breakfast included was a coffee and a croissant from the corner store etc etc. There is nothing good about this hotel to feel good about.. we were simply cheated...

We were moved here from Hotel Soggiorno Blu. The bathroom smelled really bad. The first night was a nightmare. We woke up several times during the first night because noises from other rooms/floors. Elevator was out of order at the arrival date. Bathroom's shower pressure was really bad if you want warm water.

If you want to stay in a hotel with paper thin walls and have a sleepless night this is the place. On arrival the staff seemed to be generally friendly however when dealing with a complaint they were utterly useless and didn't seem to care in the slightest. When booking a hotel room advertised with it's own bathroom we didn't... More

Tiny little hotel really close to Termini Station. Clean as it should be but nothing else. Near to the trains, buses and subway. The area is not the most perfect part of the Eternal City: drunken people and clochards are find each part of the day and the night. Breakfast is served in a bar close to the hotel. Air... More

I was on a business trip and I wanted an hotel close to the train station, thus I decided to choose the Hotel Rubino... Unfortunately, I did not check TripAdvisor :( The receptionist was very rude and impolite, the hotel was smelly, the room was small and quite cold. Fortunately the bathroom was quite clean. Breakfast is outsourced to a... More

The price booked and confirmed online was inflated by 25% when we arrived, with the excuse that "we didn't pay online" - which is complete bull, since the hotel had our credit card details as entered on the website, and simply didn't charge it. The room had no mobile signal for our phones, and they also tried to reduce our... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
