Was a bit worried initially as it's in Lazio, a bit away from the central 'core' of the city. But we were pleasantly surprised. Close to subway stop. Great restaurants/wineries nearby. We booked this place for our honeymoon for 4 nights with junior suite. When arrived first thing we noticed was a lap dance club directly across from hotel. Reception was helpful in getting booked in, good english. However walking into the room was like walking into a time wrap. Everything from the 70's, there was a smell in the room.... more

My wife and I just returned from a 3 day stay in Rome at the La Residenza. The room had a king size bed with modest space around it and a huge bathroom by European standards (shower/bath and sink separately by a door from toliet). It was clean and well decorated. We just returned from Rome, August 28, 2007 and had stayed 4 nights at La Residenza in a Triple room. It had a twin-bedded king and a sitting area with a twin bed which could be closed-off for privacy if you wanted. The hotel is in a terrific area for walking to sites. I booked this hotel based on numerous positive reviews on Trip Advisor and Expedia. Having now stayed in the hotel, I have to wonder if I accidentally went to a different property. The rooms were farily clean, but very, very dated. There was an ethernet connection for the included internet (no wireless), but the connection was hidden behind a bed.... more
