This little traditional Hotel in the "Heart of Rome was awesome. Clean rooms, great staff and fantastic breakfast. Walking distance to many attractions and I would not hesitate recommending this hotel to others

La Residenza is a lovely older hotel in the center of Rome. It is very reasonably priced and comfortable. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The rooms are nicely furnished and quiet; ours had a balcony! The breakfast (included) is second to none. Don't expect cushy mattresses and convenient bathrooms in older European hotels.

We had a great stay and I would give the hotel a much higher rating if the rooms were more updated. Aside from the outdated and dark decor and very old bathroom, the room was spacious, quiet, comfortable and clean and perfect for three of us. We loved having the balcony to relax after a full day of sightseeing. I... More

We chose this hotel for our Rome break as it's the sister hotel to one we stayed in in Venice, plus it was recommended in my Eyewitness Guide to Rome. It was as expected, with a lovely grand entrance off a quite street, and really excellent staff on the front desk. Easy to find from the train station. The breakfast... More

I thought the hotel was good for my extended stay. I would rate much higher if the rooms were modernized. That being said, the rooms are well kept and clean. The room I was in was very quiet, very little noise from outside or other rooms. Bed was comfortable. The room was quite large for Italy. Location is good as... More

Spent four nights in early Oct. Great bed and good air conditioning. Excellent wi fi in the room for a small fee good for the length of your stay. Bathroom is dated but plenty of hot water. Exceptional breakfast buffet. Quiet location but close to restaurants and even a tapas bar across the street. Excellent value. Vincenzo at the front... More

Stayed for 6 nights in this hotel. Great location, close to Spanish steps and basically in walking distance to almost everywhere. Staff is excellent, very attentive, friendly and helpful. The hotel is very calm and it was pleasure to relax in the lounge where they play classical music quietly.

Great hotel location with excellent staff. The rooms are big and clean Although bathroom and showers are old they are comfortable and clean (we even took a bubble bath) Nice breakfast The only thing which is annoying is the lack of WiFi in the rooms

Second stay here and they have worked to keep the property in shape . Easy walk to the Spanish steps and many nice bistros close by. Rooms are plenty big by European standards. We had a junior suite with a big balcony which was nice, but the double rooms are more than adequate. Lobby well maintained and full of European... More

Just completed a 2 night stay which was the best hotel for our time in Italy. Huge Bed (California King), excellent bathroom & shower, The Best Breakfast in Italy, easy walking to shopping, restaurants, & historical artifacts (we easily walked to Vatican City from this hotel). Our room had an outside patio area that provided privacy, and a nice sitting... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
