We stayed at the la Residenza because we had a good visit last year. WE were not disappointed. WE had a different room, smaller, RM 102. but it was still very large. WE were in back of the hotel and we could open the windows and it was quiet. Vincinte was the front desk person and he was excellent, It... More

We were in Rome with friends and stayed at their old favorite - La Residenza. With 2 exceptions, this was a fabulous hotel. Old charm, terrific breakfast, great location, helpful staff, generous room. 2 things need attention. There was water leak in the ceiling of our bathroom that was covered with mold/mildew. It is obvious that it had been there... More

We stayed here for 7 nights over Christmas. There were 4 of us so, we had a quadruple room with a balcony. It was the perfect size. The bathroom was large and perfectly clean. The front desk staff was the best. So helpful and knowledgable. Such wonderful, old fashioned gentlemen. They get to know you. Loved them. And loved the... More

This hotel is a short walk from the metro and just a few stops from most of the key sites you'll want to see in Rome. The staff is VERY friendly, helpful and made our stay enjoyable. On Christmas Eve they invited all of the guests for drinks and snacks in the lounge - a very nice touch! The room... More

This little traditional Hotel in the "Heart of Rome was awesome. Clean rooms, great staff and fantastic breakfast. Walking distance to many attractions and I would not hesitate recommending this hotel to others

La Residenza is a lovely older hotel in the center of Rome. It is very reasonably priced and comfortable. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The rooms are nicely furnished and quiet; ours had a balcony! The breakfast (included) is second to none. Don't expect cushy mattresses and convenient bathrooms in older European hotels.

We had a great stay and I would give the hotel a much higher rating if the rooms were more updated. Aside from the outdated and dark decor and very old bathroom, the room was spacious, quiet, comfortable and clean and perfect for three of us. We loved having the balcony to relax after a full day of sightseeing. I... More

We chose this hotel for our Rome break as it's the sister hotel to one we stayed in in Venice, plus it was recommended in my Eyewitness Guide to Rome. It was as expected, with a lovely grand entrance off a quite street, and really excellent staff on the front desk. Easy to find from the train station. The breakfast... More

I thought the hotel was good for my extended stay. I would rate much higher if the rooms were modernized. That being said, the rooms are well kept and clean. The room I was in was very quiet, very little noise from outside or other rooms. Bed was comfortable. The room was quite large for Italy. Location is good as... More

Spent four nights in early Oct. Great bed and good air conditioning. Excellent wi fi in the room for a small fee good for the length of your stay. Bathroom is dated but plenty of hot water. Exceptional breakfast buffet. Quiet location but close to restaurants and even a tapas bar across the street. Excellent value. Vincenzo at the front... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
