Long walks from reception to the rooms in the back with steps up and down, but nice room, good comfort and quiet. Price level quite okay - breakfast like often in Italy nothing to brag about, but plenty to fill you up.

Although close to the metro and the Spanish stairs, I would say it can be disappointing to stay here. The rooms are very small, not kept well and the wifi does not reach all the places. So you some people might be lucky and be happy but you could also be unlucky!!. So it depends on you if you want... More

This hotel was situated (for us) in an excellent but busy location, mid way between the two sites we had specifically gone to Rome to visit, the Colosseum and the Vatican. Our room was very quiet. It was recommended to us by our travel agent, here on Gozo (Malta). It was exactly as described, basic but very clean and given... More

Couldn't ask for more helpful staff but my room was depressing. It really needs updating (hand held shower wand, plastic hair dryer held together with masking tape, and discoloured grouting in bathroom).

Position is good. We had three nights here and the only pleasant person we met was our housemaid - thank goodness!! On check in to our room we were immediately transported back to the 1970's. That was of course after a couple of hours waiting in the lobby for a room that was supposed to be ready when we arrived.... More

Our first day in Rome and we arrived at the Hotel King where the 2 men behind the counter ignored us while they went through what looked like their invoice folder. When they finally acknowledged us we felt like we were being an imposition, interrupting their 'valuable' time. The room was disgusting - hair on the floor of the bathroom,... More

This hotel was nice and spacious by european standards and clean as well. The free wifi was a life saver because not many of the hotels here in Italy have free wifi. The continental breakfast was average italian breakfast, nothing great but nothing terrible. The front desk was very helpful and even allowed us to print off a travel voucher... More

The staff is very eager to help with any question you have and direct you to the landmarks nearby. Although the hotel is in an old building, its nice and quiet. Close to the trevy fountain and spanish steps. Also a half a block from the subway. The rooms are larger than most europena standard hotels and so is the... More

Although in an older building, the hotel is very nice. Larger room by european standards. Clean and comfortable large bed. The breakfast buffet is with more variety than others I have tried and good tasting. For sure we will come back to this hotel in our next visit, since it is well located close to the Fontana de Trevy and... More

My first visit to Rome was just a week ago. My hubby wanted to surprise me so the reservations were left to him. I love him dearly but he allowed a large online reservations company to book the hotel in Rome. He asked for a good location near the Spanish steps, clean room, nice decor, good customer service. The only... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
