As an often visitor to Rome, I have found a ‘gem’ of a hotel. The Hotel Emmaus, located five minutes from the side entrance to St. Peter’s Square, offers tranquility, safety, comfort and cleanliness. This family-run facility guarantees good service combined with affability and professionalism. The breakfast is ample and fresh. The ‘old-world’ elevator is unique and adorable. While not... More

Forget about the secret of Fatima. I think this may be the best kept secret of Italy. This is truly a gem of a hotel, ideally located and with extremely helpful and friendly staff. The only way to get closer to the Vatican would be to become a priest! This hotel is located approximately a three minute walk to the... More

I take University students to Rome every year and have stayed at Hotel Emmaus on many occasions. It is a delightful place especially since the staff is so friendly and helpful. They can arrange transportation to and from the airport or when we want to do a day trip to Assisi. This is a modest hotel priced just right including... More

The hotel is in an ideal location for visiting the city. It is just around the corner from The Vatican, there are a few local shops & restaurants & convenient bus stops & a taxi rank. The rooms are clean & have all the necessities, & the fact that the decor is a little dated simply adds to the allure... More

We don't normally stay in Rome near the Vatican, but were visiting friends on that side. We initially chose a B&B which proved unsatisfactory, so I popped across the street to the Emmaus, which is a proper hotel. The friendly Luigi laughed when I explained why I was coming off the street, and said they'd had several guests who had... More

We found the hotel staff friendly and helpful. The conventient location to the Vatican and a no 64 bus stop made it easy to get to tourist places. The price was good while the rooms were quaint and rustic.

We planned a quick weekend trip to Rome and our usual hotel was booked. Looking through reviews we found The Emmaus and were extremely hopeful, that this could be another place we could rely on for our frequent trips to Rome. When making reservations online their website asked for how many adults and how many children I entered 2 adults... More

The Hotel s in a great location to visit St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican. The rooms are nice and the service is very good. There are plenty of places to eat near by as well as a Farmacia, Taxi stand and bus stop. I would recommend this Hotel.

We had the main street side room overlooking the St Peters Square entrance and the street side restaurants. The staff and breakfast were great, and the price was reasonable for Rome. The hotel is a bit rustic and could use some updates, but would stay again.

I have just concluded a 9 day stay at this property. The location (right next to St Peter's Square) speaks for itself. Reasonably priced restaurants nearby, with Piazza Navona a short 10-15min walk for other eating options. The room was comfortable. Of course in a older style, apartment like hotel, noise does tend to travel of a night ie. guests... More
