Sold to us by Thomson as a 4* but I would expect more from a 4*. The room was tiny - very little room to move around. Bathroom had all amenities but very cramped. There were 2 of us & on day 3/4 we finally got 2 bath towels - changed daily and room cleaned daily We did have a... more

I stayed here for about 4 days and the staff was very rude, the rooms unclean and the amenities non existent. We'll never return in this hotel. more

Upon arrival they tried to put us into a single room with a further mattress squashed into it. There was no space left, even to get around the bed to the bathroom, mind you put a baby cot as we were travelling with a baby. Then they moved us to another room, also tiny, but at least there was about... more

My daughter and I accompanied my husband on his recent business trip to Rome. As he had to travel to a neighboring town each day this hotel was chosen to enable him to easily hop on and off the highway. Had we been traveling for pure pleasure I would have chosen a smaller hotel that would give the flavor of... more

I had the unpleasure to stay in this hotel in July for a business trip. The hotel charged my compagny 120 E (so called "special rate") for a single room. The area where the hotel is dates back form Mussolini, and so is the hotel, the decoration, the furnitures and the last time someone cleaned the room... The room was... more

Having travelled extensively, this has to be one of the worst 4 star hotels stayed in. Booked through Thomson, thinking it would be ok. It can only be described as 2/3 star. Expensive for what we got. Room and breakfast adequate. Cleaning leaves a lot to be desired! Bathroom needs total refurbishment. Got balcony-great!! no furniture?! Staff-surly and totally dont... more

First the good... The location is right across the street from the metro station, where you can take to subway right into the center of Rome. The hotel also has parking if you drove in to Rome. so..that was a good thing. As for the rest... I thought the staff at the front desk were kind of...well A-holes. Everytime i... more

(Review is from November 2007) My girlfriend and I were very much looking forward to our Rome trip and we didn't let the inconveniences we encoutered ruin that. The hotel was much further than we expected and we foolishly got ripped off by taking a cab. We took the metro back and if we knew about simple this was, we... more

We had booked a three night stay at the hotel for the bank holiday in May, however by day two we were checked out and booking into the Radisson hotel in the centre of Rome. Needless to say we were not impressed by the Hotel American Palace. The poor location could be forgiven (being right at the end of the... more
