This small hotel just a 5 minute walk from the coloseum is a haven after busy days! It is tucked away in a small street. The staffis very friendly. The room was more than adequate for a single traveler- very comfortable bed.Clean bathroom. a definiteupgrade from some places I've stayed in recently in Rome. Modern facilities. Breakfast included but I... More

I've stayed at the Hotel Duca D'Alba twice now. Both times I was so happy to be there, and the second time I was so happy to be back. The hotel is comfortable & clean, and in my favorite neighborhood in Rome, where you are in the center of the city and close to everything, but also in a quiet... More

Great stay at this clean hotel. Breakfast was excellent - having everything you could ask for in a European style breakfast. Staff was very helpful in dealing with a room change (more on that shortly) and a lost bag that was delivered from the airport (they put it straight in our room). Our room was small, modern, and clean. Only... More

I seek hotels in real neighborhoods when I travel so Duca d' Alba was the perfect location for 8 days in Rome. The Monti area is hardly undiscovered, but the language on the streets is Italian and it is Italian kids that congregate in the evenings around the fountain in the piazza. Yes, this area has been gentrified but rather... More

Normally I stay in larger chain hotels, but we wanted something with a bit more character and a central location for an affordable price. A work colleague had previously stayed here and recommended it to me, so we booked on the strength of that recommendation. We had no reason to be disappointed. Yes, the room was small - it's a... Having travelled from Australia for our first trip to Europe we were anxious that we would be at the mercy of our inexperience and to that end we are extremely grateful that our first experience in Italy was at this hotel. It was a lovely smaller hotel where you couldn't help but to engage with the staff who were lovely... More

There was not one person on the entire staff who was not cordial and responsive to any request. From competent and professional front desk (Elisa, Tatiana, Angelo) to competent and accommodating service staff--especially room maintenance--everyone made my stay comfortable. If you want to stay in Monti, in the thick of it all, with absolutely easy transportation access, this small hotel... More

This hotel is unlike any I've stayed at before. I'm unsure about the history of the building but it mixes very old Roman style with new and updated features. The way the hotel is set up also makes it feel as though you are in an apartment which was different and cool in its own way. It is located in... More

My sister and I stayed here for six nights and we loved this hotel! Our room was in the building next door which made us feel as though we had our own apartment in Rome. The room was very quiet and we could hear no street noise. The staff was all very nice and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious with... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
