This was a great little hotel with a real Italian feel, very welcoming staff and very help full, rooms were clean, plenty big enough for a few days exploring. Its in a great location about a 5 min walk from Termini station and about 15 mins to Colliseum. Continental breakfast was plenty to put you on for the day. Loved... More

Booked by my fiancé for my birthday. Perfect central location to explore the rest of Rome from. It isn't a luxury hotel so don't expect anything special but the rooms are cosy and quiet with a warm welcoming service. Breakfast was average serving cured meats and croissants, typically continental. Close to local travel such as bus station and bus stops... More

This hotel is nicely located close to the Termini (Train station). There are lots of small stores close by where you can get water and snacks. It is also very close to restaurants which made it convenient too. The people working there are fantastic. They were accommodating and their continental breakfast was nice. Their espresso coffees were really good too.

We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Lirico. The breakfast was average but the coffee was great! The room was clean. The décor was slightly dated but we are just there to rest and recharge for sight-seeing. We loved the fact that we can watch poker tournaments on skytv. Hotel is well placed to walk to most of Rome highlights and... More

Tony and Massimo and all the staff there were so helpful with every detail of our stay. 2nd time there and both trips were great. For travelers with heavy luggage, the entrance is a stairway - but staff was there and helped us get everything up and into our rooms. Breakfast was a variety and start to each day, especially... My husband and I stayed here on our first ever trip to Europe. We planned on a budget & I booked our trip myself through European Destinations, and this was one of the hotels recommended. It is far enough away that you can (most of the time) peacefully enjoy the minimal street traffic having your bedroom window open, but close... More

One of the best places to stay in the very near to the "Ancient" Rome. Very clean hotel, nice decorated rooms with all the amenities, next to the railroad station, very reasonable prices and the personnel always smiling and polite. Don't forget to have breakfast at the hotel and enjoy your cappuccino.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
