We stayed here for 3 nights during the Easter break. Hotel is in a good location near to the termini station and within walking distance of the main sights. Also very close to the starting point of the hop on hop off tourist buses. Rooms were clean and well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was typical... More

The hotel was in a great location (close to termini). Rooms were nice. Good shower, although the bathroom was a bit smelly. Breakfast was ok. Ceraels, continental, yoghurts, bread rolls. The guys at reception were really helpful. Would stay again if I go back to rome

We stayed at the Lirico for the third time in March and it keeps getting better. Location, rooms, food and price are great. Lots of local restaurants and bars. We cannot imaging going to Rome and not using this Hotel.

Spent the weekend at the hotel.staff excellent and friendly. Organised all our requests.ideal location. Room lovely and clean. Breakfast very appetising. Well done. Will stay here again. Only downside was the daily tourist tax we had to pay which we weren't aware of when we booked.

This hotel is really a little gem, it's location is great. The staff are very helpful some of the best in Europe The rooms are fresh, clean and tidy The bathroom is good a bit small for a fat person like me, but I can loose weight. How can you fault a hotel. I think its the second best hotel... More

Dear Guest, What can we answer to your excellent review? I arrived late morning and was able to check in early. The stairs people have been writing about aren't a big deal if you don’t have heavy bags and are OK carrying a bag up about 20 steps. I interacted with Tony and learned about the immediate vicinity and he recommended some places. He and I connected over higher education.... More

We visited Rome for a 3 night break for my wife's 50th birthday. We chose Hotel Lirico for it's location, value for money and TA reviews and we weren't disappointed on any of these. OK, there isn't a big comfortable lounge/bar area, but if like us you are looking for somewhere that fits the bill on the above criteria then... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
