The hotel is very clean with spotless rooms and the staff helpful. Great location , not too far from the terminal and the centre but very quiet. Nothing is too much trouble. Large choice of breakfast. Staff very informative. No frills but great value

We had the best time in Rome, and appreciate the recommendations we got for dining out in the evening. We got a good connection with the different receptionist and got the best service from them. Walking distance from most tourist attractions.

We stayed in April 2015. Our room was large, with a large bed, and very nicely decorated, on the 3rd floor overlooking the Opera. The sound-proof windows work very well. Not far from Termini station. There are about 10-15 stairs from the street level to the lobby, but there is an elevator up to the rooms. The staff is very... More

We stayed here for 3 nights during the Easter break. Hotel is in a good location near to the termini station and within walking distance of the main sights. Also very close to the starting point of the hop on hop off tourist buses. Rooms were clean and well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was typical... More

The hotel was in a great location (close to termini). Rooms were nice. Good shower, although the bathroom was a bit smelly. Breakfast was ok. Ceraels, continental, yoghurts, bread rolls. The guys at reception were really helpful. Would stay again if I go back to rome

We stayed at the Lirico for the third time in March and it keeps getting better. Location, rooms, food and price are great. Lots of local restaurants and bars. We cannot imaging going to Rome and not using this Hotel.

Spent the weekend at the hotel.staff excellent and friendly. Organised all our requests.ideal location. Room lovely and clean. Breakfast very appetising. Well done. Will stay here again. Only downside was the daily tourist tax we had to pay which we weren't aware of when we booked.

I arrived late morning and was able to check in early. The stairs people have been writing about aren't a big deal if you don’t have heavy bags and are OK carrying a bag up about 20 steps. I interacted with Tony and learned about the immediate vicinity and he recommended some places. He and I connected over higher education.... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
