This small hotel is central for sightseeing and transport in Rome. My room and bathroom were very very small but clean and well maintained. The bathroom fittings were new.The bedcover was stained, although I did not need to use it. The air conditioning in the room was effective. Breakfast was ok. but the products were of inferior quality. The breakfast room is small... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the hotel is in a very good location with 5 minutes walk to Termini station so it was easy to get around. Room was clean with the towels changed daily (we were in room Rossa) and the breakfasts were adequate. Also we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

Very disappointed in accommodations and rooms. Room was clean but dated in style. Staff was accommodating when sink clogged but desk clerk was far from friendly to us when we ask questions. Wifi only free when in the lobby. Breakfast wasn't as tasty and we ate out the following two mornings. Close to Metro and public buses which made getting... More

I stayed at the Patria Hotel 4-7th June 2015 with my 77 year old mum. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were helpful and professional. The room, though bijoux was good enough for our needs and there were clean towels, shower and even a bidet. There was a 24 hour BBC News channel, so I was pleased, but... More

Hotel very clean; staff very helpful. But single room (105) VERY small and basic. Disappointed - did ask if there wasn't a better room! Nothing welcoming about it, no pictures, minimal functional furniture - bed, chair, desk with small fridge under). TV on wall at foot of the bed (few channels; BBC World kept 'refreshing' every 10 mins which became... More

What can I say. Great spot, near amazing things. Clean room, but the bathroom shower is udderly tiny. The breakfast is alright, but there was one MAJOR problem. They day of departure the airport caught fire, and all flights were cancelled. At this point I walked back and asked for another night, paid for another night paying an additional 15... More

When I saw the room I was really disappointed: a small single bed and a very narrow, long room that led to the bathroom. This space could have been used as a storage unit perhaps, but not certainly not as a single room in a 3 star hotel! I am really sorry I went here, unfortunately I had to stay... More

A wonderful stay on my first trip to Rome. The hotel was small, very clean, in a wonderful location to transportation and the wonderful Rome museum. The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast each morning was great. Would highly recommend this small hotel - also check out the Target restaurant... More

Honestly the hotel is not a three star hotel. The rooms were so tiny! Once you walked up to your floor, it felt like I was in a convent. The green carpet had stains on it. The comforters were dirty. The bathroom was clean but the shower was very small. You couldn't move without touching the walls and shower head.... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
