We stayed at Hotel Tirreno for 8 nights and had a marvelous stay. The hotel was clean and well-maintained and the staff was lovely. The hotel has a very nice breakfast setup, which was a great way to start each day. I liked the neighborhood and found the location to be ideal. I would definitely stay here again. As a... More

I stayed at Tirreno Hotel for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. The location is very convenient (right next to Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica and within walking distance from the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Roma Termini) and there are plenty of small, nice restaurants and pizzerias around. I stayed in a single room, which was very comfortable. The low price... More

I've never written a trip advisor review before but felt compelled because my experience at this hotel was so dreadful. I booked through Orbitz and could only select an option for a double bed or two singles. I called the hotel and the very friendly manager told me no problem, if my boyfriend managed to get away for the trip,... More

Dear e b: I am sorry that Hotel Tirreno did not meet the same level of satisfaction as your Nicaraguan and Nepalese accommodations, which were all three reviewed at the same time. As the former is a four room bed and breakfast in a private residence and the latter is a five star hotel these would not be considered comparable... More

This hotel is in a good location for walking to see the sites of Rome. It is just down the street from Termini station, which makes it very convenient for day trips out of Rome. The breakfast is plenty and typical of European breakfast. We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, though we were in other cities for a... More

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights and had a wonderful stay. Value hotel with a B&B feel to it. Centrally located near metro stops, good restaurants, churches and forum/coliseum. Very helpful front desk who spoke better than marginal english. Continental breakfast of juice. coffee/tea, rolls, yogurt and cheese and ham. Breakfast staff was efficient and friendly -... More

Stayed 3 nights. Good breakfast. Comfy beds. Plenty of hot water. Friendly staff. 10 minute walk downhill to Colosseum/foro. Quiet rooms although a little street noise can be heard occasionally. Free wifi functioned perfectly from a corner room on the top floor. Nice restaurant just up the road. Recommended.

Located in a quiet safe part of Rome but close to Cavor subway station so it's super convient to get to all of the tourist attractions. Rooms were spacious for European standards. If you are expecting a luxurious stay , this is not the hotel for you . But for budget travellers , this might be a good place. The most favourable aspect about this property is its nearness to Termini as well as to The colosseum . Rooms have bare minimum facilities. The toiletries they provide is not good. So carry... More

The Tirrino Hotel is a good budget hotel with a helpful staff and good ITALIAN breakfast. If you are more interested in actually seeing Rome than worrying about where you will only be sleeping, then this hotel would be a good choice. The hotel is located on a small side street within walking distance of Termini rail station as well as nearby subway stations on both lines. Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
