The location alone should make you book here. A former convent that was turned into a hotel 60 years ago, it is still charming. Very old world and pricey, it's worth it for those who want to be close to walking distance from most city centre attractions and avoid the dishonest, scamming taxi drivers. Have drinks on the roof top... More

on a small winding side street, this hotel is dated, old, in need of a major overhaul --- especially in lobby and sitting areas - but rooms are good size, beds ok, wooden floors, decent bathrooms, most with good views over the Forum - excellent location for visitin Forum, Colosseum, Piazza Venezia and general area --- a hike from the... Hotel Forum Roma is beautifully situated overlooking the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and clean, the rooms are comfortable and clean. We enjoyed drinks at the 'American Bar' rooftop. The view was great but the drinks were just OK. Dinner at the restaurant was very good and the service was good. We were disappointed... More

We had room 405, a new style room with a fantastic view of the forum. The receptionists were polite and helpful. The breakfast staff were friendly. Perhaps our stay was just too long (7 days in May '15) to have to put up with the noise above our heads day and night. The restaurant staff drag the tables, chairs, trollies... More

This was our first trip to Rome and actually our first trip to Italy (shameful!) We loved this hotel, the location was incredible, the rooms full of character and the staff helpful (the manager managed to point out that my bag was a lot heavier than my husband's, giving away the fact I'd packed for 2 weeks rather than 4... I have stayed in this hotel three times and love it. The location is fantastic. The hotel is full of charm and character. Some of the bedrooms are quite small but it is an historical building and to be honest you spend minimal time in your room while enjoying this fantastic city. The restaurant is lovely and the roof terrace... More

Sometimes you don't really know if the name/description is for real but you really have amazing views of the Forum, the Palatine Hill and the wedding cake (aka National Monument to Victor Emmanuel II) from this hotel rooftop. You can also glimpse the top of the Colosseum. All from the restaurant on the 5th floor. (see my pics) I read... More

We had a lovely mini break in this hotel. Room good, had bath and shower and lovely soft towels (because I can remember the days when Italian hotels had thin, hard towels!). Breakfast every morning on the terrace and drinks in the evening in rooftop bar. Perfect!

Really central location but more 2 star than 4 star - all very tired/dated - small room, tiny bathroom with even tinier shower with yukky damp shower curtain, mould on the ceiling and even on (spare) loo roll! Also dirty tablecloths at breakfast and staff uniforms were dirty, bed was hard and hollow fibre pillows were like bullets - asked... More

The description seems to be from another hotel! the rooms have been renovated recently, as well as all the curtains. We would have been happy to be advised of the dissatifaction of the guests during their stay so we could have make it more pleasant. More

We stayed for 8 days, and their best asset is its location. This was our second stayed. Our room was on the 4th floor, which has been recently renovated with a view to the Forum. Nice room, the only problem is that If you have trouble sleeping, it can be a bit uncomfortable since you can hear the chairs and... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
