We booked this hotel as recommended by a colleague for its proximity to the centre of the city and in particular the Coliseum and the Forum. We arrived at 12 noon to be told rather brusquely that our room wasn't ready. Unable to freshen up after our journey we had to make do with the hotels facilities in the foyer.... More

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It wasn't the Hotel Eden or the Majestic but we saved about $2,000 that paid for our flights! We still went to dinner and drinks at these other restaurants and were able to see the beautiful rooftop view from hotel Eden from another place in the city. But back to the Forum... More

This was my first time visiting Rome, so when our taxi pulled up outside The Hotel Forum, my first thought was, what a brilliant location, the hotel itself was beautiful it was clean, beds very comfy, and the roof-top restaurant offers splendid views over Rome, food also delicious, theirs also a roof top bar, to relax after sightseeing, I loved... We arrived just after 6pm for a pre paid weekend. We had booked and paid for in advance a classic room for Friday and Saturday. The bolshy receptionist said "we do not have a room for you so we are sending you to another hotel." Clearly, having got our money they had sold our room to someone else. This has... More

This hotel is in a lovely area - right on top of the Forum and minutes from the Colosseum. It's fairly central to most areas of Rome and was a good choice for that reason. The hotel is quaint and we had a wonderful deluxe room with gorgeous dual aspect windows. Everywhere in a city is busy and noisy and... More

Just have to keep returning - wonderful location, exceptional staff - the views from the hotel are breathtaking. We have stayed here on all our Rome breaks for the last ten years and would not dream of going to any other hotel. Maria and Cosimo in the restaurant make everyone feel so welcome and special.

Lovely traditional hotel with nice character. The staff were all friendly but the star for me was darling Maria in the breakfast restaurant- lovely, warm friendly lady who looks after the guests like a mama. Rooms very comfortable , and bless them they upgraded me from the small single room to a double which wasn't massive but absolutely fine, thank... More

Have just returned from Rome. The forum hotel was excellent with very helpful and charming staff and comfortable accommodation . The roof terrace was very pleasant for an evening aperitif. It was situated conveniently for tourist sights like the Coliseum and the open top bus.

We really enjoyed staying here on our last night before returning home. This old hotel had real charm. Our room was clean and spacious. We enjoyed a glass of Italian sparkling wine at the rooftop bar, staring out at the historic town. Afterward, we had a wonderful dinner at the hotel's rooftop restaurant. Book early and request a window table.

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
