After a 16 day cruise from Miami Florida to Rome we were happy to get our rid of our sea legs and enjoy being on firm ground once more. We arrived in Rome and took a taxi to the hotel to be met by Cesare at the entrance of the hotel who greeted us and took our bags while keeping... More

The de la Ville has an excellent location at the top of the Spanish steps, that's literally the only good thing about it. We spent the night in #224, which was the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The headboard wall of the room abutted the food prep area for the morning breakfast as well as the laundry facilities.... More

The only thing good about this hotel is it's location. The furniture in the room is awfully old. Hotel is outdated and in dire need for renovation. The staff is kind and helpful. I was upset for not getting any good view rooms, early check-in or any preference as a Platinum Member. I was disturbed 3 times in the morning... More

There is something very classical and traditional about this hotel.. It has a long history and long list of world famous guests. Small but grand. We had two rooms reserved for an anniversary.. Laura Anna greeted us warmly and made us feel immediately at home. She advised us that our rooms were right next door to each other and also... More

Very well located at the top of the Spanish steps, within walking distance to many sites, eg Coliseum, Trevi fountain and shops. Rooms are small but well decorated. This is an old building so don't expect large rooms that newer hotels have. The terrace on the roof is great for a late night drink and take in the night lights... More

Perfectly situated at top of the Spanish steps within easy reach of all main attractions. We stayed in a beautifully clean, air conditioned classic room which was well furnished and very well equipped with robes, slippers, lots of toiletries and even bathroom scales!!!! Iron and board, hairdryer, mini bar at usual hefty prices etc. the only thing missing from the... More

Summary: Almost certainly the worst InterContinental we have stayed in [from a sample of c. 10]. No doubt propped up by an excellent location and the InterContinental brand, this IC is in desperate need of renovations and a service overhaul. We would not recommend this hotel, instead turn to one of the 229 currently ranked higher on TripAdvisor. Location and... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
