We stayed at the Lord Byron in June and we were most disappointed. I agree it is not a leading hotel in any regard at all. Our room was a nightmare in red with a window that opened inward! The bathroom was too small. A terry toweling shower curtain was a sight to behold and the toilet blocked which just... More

I take issue with the Lord Byron being included as a "Leading Hotel of the World" as I saw nothing to merit it. The room was tiny - so small in fact there was no room for proper closets. Instead, the "closets" were 2 large wall cabinets mounted on either side of the bed. A pole was attached to the... More

The Lord Byron was not what we expected, so we are writting about our visit. The tub was great! Big enough for two, and after the long flight from L.A. it was just what we needed. The staff was fantastic, but that is where it ended for us. The breakfast was not fresh. The eggs were on a buffett, and... More

Staying in Parioli

Neighborhood Profile
Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavor of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
