Great hotel with points or on business but not worth the price otherwise. Unless you have free breakfast due to status, forget the breakfast on the rooftop. For 30 Euro you can go around the corner to a pastry shop for breakfast with coffee and you will get service. Upstairs you get poor service, average food, nice view, and a... More

We booked this property with some concerns. I am a Marriott platinum member and was planning on using points. Although this rated as one of Marriott's nicest hotels (at least as to the number of points required), other trip advisor reviewers had unpleasant experiences and suggested that the hotel simply didn't like granting award stays. We certainly didn't get the... More

We stayed at the Grand Flora after a cruise in October. We were treated like family and thought the hotel was a bright, beautiful magical place in a bright beautiful magical city. The management and staff were very helpful in advice for transport and for dining. The hotel rooftop restaurant was delightful and delicious. I did read some negative comments... More

As one reviewer noted, most things about this hotel are rather good--but not outstanding. Most hotels at this price (expensive) in this type of location leave you with strong impressions--good or bad. The Marriott Grand Flora left me with feelings of adequacy. The rooms were very clean and contained what you needed--but were small. The front desk staff was friendly... More

We were lucky to book 5 nights using points and paid for 4 more nights. We were very impressed with the staff from the moment of check in until we left. We arrived at 10:00am on Sunday morning and were told that we would be upgraded if we could wait a short while until a room was ready. Since breakfast... More

After my time in Venice (which I hated) I was really looking forward to getting to Rome and was very relieved to get to a Mariott again. From the moment I checked in to the time I checked out, the staff at the Grand Flora were just fantastic. Escpecially Alberto at the front desk--he was always so accomodating and attentive.... More

I stayed here for 3 nites using points and paid $430 euro for last nite. The visit started off poor, when my cousin (50 yr old) and her children dropped me off here to leave my luggage before visiting the Van Gogh exposition. The front desk insisted that only 1 person could accompany me to my room and must show/leave... More

We stayed at the Marriott Grand Flora for 4 nights in September using Marriott points. It was a huge struggle to get all 4 nights as I did not start trying to reserve until January and 8-9 months ahead was not enough time. I was first able to get a reservation in January for just one of the nights I... More

The Marriott Grand Flora was our oasis in Rome. After long days of sightseeing, it was such a pleasure to walk into the lobby of this hotel. The staff was gracious and welcoming and our room was a perfect size and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed. I especially enjoyed looking out my window... More

Travelled to Rome with my spouse for a five night stay in Sept. of 2010 and this was the first stop on a two week tour of Europe. When researching a hotel to stay at in Rome using points I must have missed the "booking w/ points window" for the Marriott Grand Flora dispite being over nine months early. Despite... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
