We just got back from Rome and we stayed at the Hotel Canada. We paid 176 euro's for a triple room. This is a three star hotel and I thought it was a fair price. Not cheap, but fair. We stayed in room 226. It was listed as having a queen bed but it was really two single beds together... More

I stayed at the Hotel Canada in June 2005 with my husband and 8 year old daughter. We had a spacious double room with an extra bed for our child. We were very impressed with the standard of the room and furnishings. The staff were very polite and helpful and the drinks at the hotel bar were the cheapest in... More

Pleasantly surprised at the standard of this hotel. Rooms had character and were clean. Well situated as walking distance from the Termini and around the courner from the Metro. Some good restaurants around but avoid the more commercial looking ones. Would definitely stay there again when we return to Rome.

Hotel was better than expected even after favourable reviews. We arrived via Terravision bus from Airport (which was found easily and only took about 35 minutes) drop off point was only 5 minute walk to hotel. Hotel lived up to reviews, spacious, clean rooms with excellent breakfast (our room 104 had a large garden balcony). Bar was pleasant with good... More

Stayed here to two nights, eventually found the Hotel which is quite nicely situated by the Termini, which suited us. On Checking in the Hotel was like the picture advertised, we were welcomed by a porter who took our luggage to our room. The room 422 was beyond our expectations and for 120 Euros a night was excellent value for... More

I picked this hotel because of the reviews I read on this site and because I am a gold club member. The hotel is not bad. The breakfast was great. However, it is on the wrong side of the train station. This side is dark at night and people hang out until the wee hours. If you take the train... More

We chose this hotel based on past reviews and were not let down. The hotel is quite close to the main train station which was very convenient. It is also just around the corner from a metro stop providing easy access to most of the main sights. The room was very spacious and warm. A pity about the absence of... More

We stayed at the Hotel Canada for 3 nights just after Christmas 2005. We had seen several good reviews on this site and were not disappointed. The hotel is fairly small and a couple of Metro stops out from the main tourist areas but don't let this put you off.The metro station is just yards from the hotel lobby and... More

Having read the reviews for this hotel I had high expectations and was not disappointed. We arrived very early in the morning on the Terravision bus from Ciampino airport. The hotel is a few minutes walk from where the bus drops passengers off at Termini station (it is conveniently located up a side street just across the road from the... More

We stayed at this hotel based on its location and the good reviews we'd read on TripAdvisor. Definitely a good decision. Well located, close to both the metro and train/bus to airports. Found an amazing bookstore for automobile fanatics just down the street (on Via Marsala). The hotel itself was beautifully decorated and maintained, we loved the decor in the... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
