Good and clean. We got a room facing Viale Castro Pretorio and it was a bit noisy, although the double glazed windows did a decent job. Some of our neighbours were quite loud and sound proofing wasn't the best. I also found odd that our room did not have a minibar. Breakfast was good. Many choices including eggs, salsages, yoghurt,... More

Wow, this little boutique hotel is magnificent. Everything from the buffet breakfast, to the rooms and the delightful, efficient, helpful, curtious, staff. We stayed five nights all up, both before and after a tour. On returning the reception staff remember our names and treated us like we were family. In fact his hotel,is set up in the public areas as... More

We try to stay away from chains but were presently surprised. So much so that we would definitely stay here our next trip to Rome. The location was absolutely perfect. Probably only 100 yards to the metro which takes you to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and anywhere else you want to be. We had two rooms and both were... More

While this property is located a long walk from the sites in the city center, it is very close to a metro station and the bus stations. The property was lovely and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was amazing, especially for the price. There were a number of repeat visitors.

Pleasant hotel is an easy walk from the station. The lobby/bar area is very nice and the drinks are very good value. The gentleman in the bar, Richard, is lovely and very helpful. The room we had was the top grade, deluxe I think. Spacious and comfortable with good aircom and a safe . However the bathroom was very dated... More

My partner and I have just departed after a week-long stay at the Hotel Canada, and, like our prior stays over the years, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is not a 5-star luxury property - it is a friendly, comfortable, genuinely Italian hotel that I'd take over the international luxury brands any time. The staff are warm and friendly,... We spent 4 nights here and were very pleased with our accommodation. The staff at the front desk, in the morning dining area and Richard at the bar were all very friendly and helpful. We found the room very clean, bed very comfortable and liked the tile floors. It's a great location if you're taking the train, bus or metro;... More

I was there as my honeymoon. Hotel served me a sparkling wine and chocolate which made us very happy. One thing which was a little inconvenient was internet access. It was not easy to access it. If I asked to the staff they may let me know however, it might be better to explain when check in.

We spent a nigh in this hotel as it is very well located with the rail station (less than 10 minutes walking) and we needed to catch an early train the morning after. We liked it very much: the furniture is antique, making it looking more like a chateaux and relais than a best western, people were very kind and... More

Visit Rome for my son’s birthday. We choose the Hotel Canada because of the location and the good reviews on this site. We arrived in Rome and took a shared van ride to the hotel. We did want to waste time trying to figure out how to get to the hotel; booked shared ride through Viator. I did find out... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
