Hotel D'este is not fancy, but it is clean, the rooms surprisingly roomy and it is close to the metro's one line. There is a supermarket close by. The hotel staff was friendly and English was spoken. There is an excellent restaurant across the street which came highly recommended in the guide book we had and it turned out to... more

Stayed here in May 09. Was originally booked into a hotel across the street, but that hotel had double booked and got me accomodation in Hotel D'Este. I was on a budget, just wanted somewhere clean and basic to sleep at night and this hotel was fine for that purpose. Airconditioning worked but didnt cool the room as much as... more

My mum, Sister & I went for a long weekend, it was mums 70th birthday. Hotel was very dark and dreary, the room was large, which was fine, as there was the 3 of us. It was very basic. No Tea/Coffee making facilities. No mini bar. A safety deposit box that didnt work. One small window, that over looked the... more

I didn't have much time to plan this trip to Italy and D'Este were one of the cheapest hotels I found with rooms available. I must say I was a bit disapointed. The room was very, very small, even for european standards, and not so clean either _I found an old piece of cheese in the closet. The walls are... more

I was looking for a cheap accomodation in Rome near the train station.. A friend of mine who lives in Rome suggested me this hotel now owned by Chinese people.. The hotel is small in a very good location near to the subway.. I had a single room and it was pretty small but clean and with a comfortable bed..... more

Booked this hotel online via an agent, then read the reviews.. Was expecting to be disappointed, but we enjoyed our stay. The hotel has perhaps seen better days & may be a little faded but it was very clean & there was plenty of hot water & breakfast was standard continental fare - pastries, breads, cheese etc. The room t.v.... more

My boyfriend and I went to Rome for the first time for 7 days in the first week of February to celebrate my 21st. First of all we had booked in The Hotel Meeting, but when I researched this hotel more I realised that it was too far away -- 5 miles from the centre of Rome and in the... more

My parents, my boyfriend and i spent a week in the hotel dest'e in november 2007 and we really can't fault it. Having read reviews on here before we left, i was somewhat concerned but from the moment we arrived our fears were put at ease. The reception staff were exceedingly helpful, pointing us in the direction of the best... more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it's the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Firstly, the area it's located in looks unfriendly and dirty. When we arrived at our room our safety deposit box did not work and when we asked the manager for a new one he said he could not provide us with one... more
