Went to Rome to watch Manchester City - Roma and then tour the City. Staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke English to a fluent level. The Room was large and in great condition. The only think that needed attention was the shower head, which was broken. This was reported and fixed immediately. Breakfast was great and the room... More

I stayed here on a recent trip to Rome. Was delighted with the location. Walkable to most of the popular sites. More important - centrally located to same sites. It was really a great place. The roof top terrace was wonderful for sunset happy hour. The room was well appointed. Clean and quite large for an inner city european hotel.... More

Dear SuzyW2008, we are glad that you would stay with us again, it's the best proof that our guests like our hotel. We apologize because you had to wait for the second cup of coffee and that the staff seemed not friendly enough, they usually are. Therefore it makes us happy to know that you liked the room, the terrace... More

I'm very sorry but this hotel is not worthy of four stars. I'm not very picky but after been spending two nights freezing in a child position and almost crying because it's so intensely inefficiently soundproofed and starving because the breakfast was a joke I'm quite sure of my judging. I guess experiences are different but to almost have five... More

Dear Samsam87, we are sorry that we were below your expectations, the heating system is meant to satisfy the majority of our guests and usually we don't have any problem with it, our breakfast is continental and except the posted eggs, yogurt and cherry tomatoes has cheese, ham, bread, cakes, croissants, biscuits, jam, honey, rusks, salad, etc. If our guests... This hotel has a great location, with huge, clean rooms and a fantastic rooftop breakfast. The views on the roof are breathtaking and the food is great. We were in easy walking distance of the Vatican, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, etc. The hotel clerk advised us to explore Rome at night when we first arrived and gave us a map and... More

The Hotel Genio is ideally located steps from Piazza Navona, arguably one of loveliest piazzas in Rome. The hotel itself is comfortable, with an abundant breakfast on the top floor, adequate room space, an in-room safe, armoire and basic bathroom facilities. My only complaint is that housekeeping(?) took my Vichy hand cream from my room. Granted, it isn't often that... More

Dear janet M, we are glad that you would stay with us even after the incident you describe, no one expect our maids has access to the rooms and they have been working with us for years and certainly would never take anything from the room, probably there was a mistake, the maid may have thought the box was empty... Our first trip to Rome so wanted to be near the centre. Genio seems well placed for walking and a 10 EUR ride in a white taxi to the other sights. Recommend Lonely Planet Pocket Rome, tons of useful stuff. Reception staff helpful and english speaking. Hotel has the essentials although a bit worn at the edges. Our back room... More

Our travel agent recommended this quaint hotel located around the corner from the Piazza Navona. The location was outstanding - I walked everywhere! For the five days that I was in Rome, I never once took a bus, metro, or taxi. Everything I wanted to see/do was within a 45-minute walking distance. You can get to the river within two... More

Me and wifey stayed here in October. The location is great. Walking distance to all main attractions. The room was clean. Breakfast was served at the top floor, and the view was stunning! Terrific staff! Downside is that the beds are hard, but I guess that's standard in Italy. You get what you pay for.

This hotel is undoubtedly all about location, location, location in the historic center and walking distance to the Vatican, Forum Romanum and Trastevere. In one hour I had walked to Vatican, crossed back to Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi, The Spanish Steps and sipped a refreshment on Piazza del Popolo. We were initially installed in a room to the back and... More

Staying in Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori

Neighborhood Profile
Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighborhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.
