Good location (close to the train station, but in a nice street), small but clean room , quiet for sleeping, and a good breakfast in an open area with a splendid view from the city. I really liked this hotel.

My travel buddy and I arrived and we got checked in straight away- I sent the hotel an email asking for an early check in and they replied saying this was fine! ROOM: As a base, the room was fine. It was fairly high up and had two twin beds, a desk, chair, telly and an en suite. It was... More

The hotel is very close to the Termini train station. Coliseum and Forum in the walking distance (15 min) . Hotel is very comfortable. The staff is very friendly. I spent one night in the single room, which was cozy and clean. It was very quiet at night, so I had a very good sleep. Breakfast was rich enough, and... More

Good location if some way out from the real centre of Rome which is a 30 minute walk or €10 taxi ride. Old school, genuine hospitality and really helpful staff. Expect small rooms, smaller bathrooms and a price which is amongst the best. No bar is a bit of a pain. Recommended

The Hotel Doria was perfect for our stay in Roma while visiting my son who is studying at JCU. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was typically small (especially the shower stall) for this price range, but very clean. The bath towels were big, but thin (by design). The front desk staff was extremely... More

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, nothing is too much bother for any of the staff. Brilliant location we walked everywhere apart from the Vatican. Rooms are small but so clean towels are something else they look like you will never get dry but are so much better than the heavy ones in England. The only thing the room... More

My husband and I used this hotel to visit the sights of Rome. It is in a good location, 20 mins walk to the Colosseum. A great way to see the sights cheaply is to use the hop on / hop off tour buses in the area, you can get off at sights and get back on the next bus... More

The room is just average. Nothing to complain about except the full bed is just two twins pushed together and it was a little musk (is that the right word?) after it rained. The room was old but very clean. The staff was amazing. They really take pride in their jobs. They were very friendly and helped us with anything... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
