Ideally located in the quiet embassy region ideal to reach central Rome on foot or by metro. Quiet neighbourhood at night so you get a good night's sleep Plenty of non touristy restaurants for good Italian food

Nice and comfortable stay. Located one stop away from termini. Bit of a 3-4 min walk from the nearest bus or metro stop. The area is quiet and dark however there are foriegn embassies in the neighbourhood, therefore the area is heavily guarded by military. Hotel is nice, rooms are well decorated, friendly receptionists, good breakfast. However no tea coffee... More

We found the Best Western Artdeco to be comfortable, clean and in a great location. It was just what we wanted for a very reasonable price. It was an interesting hotel since it had been a home in the past. Artdeco is only a few blocks from the train terminal and walking distance to many attractions. They have a good breakfast... More

Nice, quiet hotel, friendly staff. Breakfast, newspapers in the morning. Close to the train station without being too close. Emphasis on quiet (which is a good thing). Art Deco interior was charming, though combined with the aforementioned quietness of the hotel, I was sometimes afraid of turning the corner and getting an invitation to play from the twins in "The... Stayed here with my mother for 4 nights from March 31st and had a wonderful time. We stayed in room 208 which is a double aspect room (two lovely big windows) with two single beds. The room was clean, spacious and well equipped and we found that the staff were absolutely great with dealing with our requests for tea making... More

We stayed in this hotel in Rome last week. The room was well decorated and clean. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was fantastic. The hotel is close to the major train station and there are restaurants nearby. I would recommend this hotel to stay while in the East part of Rome.

Stayed here for one night in February 2015. The hotel is decorated beautifully in art deco style, with antique furnishing in the lobby and staircase. My room was tiny and cramped, but since I was traveling for business I didn't find it too much of an inconvenience. The breakfast buffet was mostly cold food but was very good quality and... More

This place is well prices based on the location it is in. The services are reasonable. Breakfast is typical italian and though rooms are a little, they are well maintained. This place is 5 min to the nearest subway that connects to Colosseum, spanish stairs and other major attractions.

After two failed hotel.com bookings, we found this close to where we were running from a nightmare (hotel Virginia). We were relieved when we saw this place on the corner. Great prices (120 euro per night for three!) The room had a private courtyard, a bathtub with jets - the wifi worked fine with free breakfast. We found free parking... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
