We have just returned from a five day break in Rome. This hotel is well placed for seeing the sights. It is in walking distance from the colosseum and has a metro station just outside, also a tram and bus stop, so if you are done walking you can ride back. We only did bed and breakfast as we didn't... More

We stayed in this hotel for 5 days. Clean hotel in a great location. Subway is just outside the front doors. The Colosseum is only 15-20 minutes away walking distance. Great locations for all the sites around this part of Rome. Hotel employees are very nice. Good free wifi.

We stayed here as part of a group. The hotel is clean and conveniently located next to a Metro station and trams. Wifi is readily available and a very nice breakfast buffet. Rooms do not come with a iron or ironing board but they will bring one to your room if you ask. The one downside to this hotel is... More

I'm not sure what the other travelers that commented with excellent reviews were seeing but my take on it is very different. The area outside and around the hotel was very dirty. The metro station was littered with trash and the stench outside was smelled in the lobby area of the hotel. The food selections for breakfast were horrible...canned fruit!!... More

I spent three nights at the Best Western hotel President during a guided tour in Roma. The room was clean, the queen-sized bed was comfortable, the bathroom was sparkling clean with necessary amenities, and a TV with more channels than you could ask for. The breakfast buffet offered a variety of items. I found the staff to be very friendly,... More

We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of May. The hotel was clean and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location for easy access to all the sites and the Termini. Most sites were within walking distance. Wi-Fi is free with good easy connection. Recommended for... More

We were with a small tour party - stayed three nights. We arrived late due to Trenitalia High Speed Line problems - but the hotel provide a simple but good evening meal. The rooms are good - just starting to show that they will need a face-lift in a couple of years. Bathroom WITH A BATH! - not just a... More

We booked this hotel for our first trip to Italy. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. They provide and excellent buffet type breakfast that is like no other that I have experienced in the United States. I would highly recommend this place to anybody staying in Rome.

Good all round value. Better to dine out, some good eateries within walking distance although a bit pricey ! Bed very comfy, nice room. Only problem was at 12.40 at night ..Noisy people next door. Not very good insulation through wall ! We would still recommend this Hotel to people.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
