Allocated a two floored too which was really nice and spacious though ac in bedroom not very affective. As only there 2 nights coped but for longer stay would check it out. Breakfast was varied and typical European options some better than others but not outstanding. Locations perfect for termini and underground. Area felt safe and nice eating places close... More

I was not supposed to stay in this hotel but we were forced to by Hilton Garden Inn Claridge where my company have booked rooms due to its vicinity to the HQ of the company I work with. But due to sewage problems Hilton Claridge could not accommodate us on the first night on their hotel and they have sent... More

Dear Mikiduta, Thank you very much for your comment. I am sorry we did not meet your expectations, I understand also that being moved from an hotel to another is probably a distress. I do not know the room number you were accommodated in but I am surprised as rooms here are all quite comfortable. Also it is important to... More

We stayed in the Hotel Universo for 4 nights. It is centrally located to reach all of the major tourist attractions in Rome by either taxi or the Metro. The hotel has a bar and restaurant and the free breakfast each morning was varied and plentiful. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly and will call a taxi for... More

Great hotel from the start. Staff friendly and spoke great English. Very clean room although a little small. Good breakfast to start the day. Would recommend to any friends or family. Bar prices reasonable and food good. Walking distance of colosseum etc

Our first trip to Italy was going great until we walked in the door to check in. The front desk staff was quite rude and pretentious; our room was not ready on time and once we finally got a room, there was dried blood, the size of a hand, on the sheets. Wish we would have read the negative reviews... More

Dear Slcorn, Thank you for the comment. Honestly your statement left us really astonished. First of all because we reckon that such an important issue like the one you state would have been reported by you immediately at the reception. I can't believe anyone would go to sleep in a bed with a dried blood stain the size of an... More

5 mins walk from Termini station. Rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast spread was excellent and had many options. The staff overall were eager to help and were approachable but the ones at the main reception didn't look too happy when asked for information and were very abrupt. Would definitely recommend this place for the location and the comfort.

The Universo was sold to us by the Travel Superstore in Adelaide Australia as part of a cruise package and at $455AUD a night we were expecting a fairly classy Hotel. The room was very nice and after 36 nights on a 3 star cruise ship with the WORST pillows ever, the bed was heavenly. As was the shower, great... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
