We booked on points and were not disappointed at this top end hotel. Train station within walking distance. Most of the major sites in Rome within walking distance. Metro station very close. Shopping and dining very close. Great base to explore Roma and lovely sanctuary at the end of a long day out. Very luxurious, very clean and the most... More

Stayed in junior suite..concierge, bellman, butler staff all top notch. Except, one encounter with concierge was poor as I found out he gave totally wrong advice on taxi rates, etc. Hotel is close to Republica metro. Only complaint was at checkin during mid day, there was no one at front desk for 20mins to help us and we were the only... More

After 3 weeks of consistently great hotels throughout Italy, it was wonderful to be overawed by the St Regis Rome experience. It surpassed our expectations in every way, from the check-in with Cecilia, to the delight of entering our magnificent top floor room, to the impeccable service offered by concierge Manuel. Every minute spent in the public areas was fantastic,... More

We spent two nights separated by a week of travel in between, I'm a platinum memeber and we used points for both nights. The first stay was outstanding - we recieved a great upgrade to a huge suite over looking the fountain. Service was great, breakfast was excellent and discounted (not free which would have been better given platinum status).... More

Dear Guest, We are sorry for not having had the opportunity to upgrade your accommodation in occasion of your second stay and we fully understand your disappointment when, after a significant wait, you were assigned to a room that did not respond to your expectations and did not smell appropriately. Since this is a very unfortunate, but also very rare... More

We stayed here for four nights on a business excursion/meeting. It is everything you would expect from a St. Regis property - beautiful property, rooms and excellent service. We found the location to be very good in terms of being able to walk to many sights, but we like to walk. While we walked to the Vatican on one of... More

We stayed at the Palazzo Manfredi on the first two nights of our trip. It was amazing. We booked the St-Regis on our last night thinking we would indulge in more luxury. It was awful! Such a disappointment! Our room was old and we felt we were pushed in a corner of the hotel. We called guest services a few... More

We used Starwood points for 3 nights while in Rome. My wife and I found it very centrally located being one block from the Republica Metro stop and two blocks from the main train station at Termini. Even so, we walked almost everywhere, taking a cab only once our first night to the Pantheon area (we walked back). The key... More

I have stayed here twice, and each time this hotel ranks among my favorite anywhere. It has an old-world charm that is hard to beat, but has enough upgraded modern amenities to keep it competitive with newer properties. As you enter the hotel, the first thing you notice it the lobby - gorgeous and elegant. It is easy to imagine... More

I was a bit hesitant about staying here using my SPG points as it appears the negative reviews were all from people using points. My experience could not have been better. Every member of the hotel staff was beyond friendly and helpful. Recommendations, assistance with travel/luggage, room service, bar service - it was all incredible. One night at the bar... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
