I can't understand it. Our room looked NOTHING like those in the photos on all the hotel sites. Our "air conditioning" consisted of a small humidifier-like rolling unit from the 70's, with a large tube attached to the window. As long as you stood within 2 inches of the unit, you felt a cool breeze. The decor was clearly 1970's....tile... More

We just back from a 6 night stay at the Morgana. The hotel was very nice and a great value for the low rate we paid. The room was average size by european standards. It was decorated with antiques. The marble bathroom was very nice and had a full bathtub and shower. Our room was spotless and housekeeping did a... More

Hotel Morgana is a perfect hotel for those primarily interested in sightseeing in Rome. It is a quick walk from the hotel to the Metro station which will take you anywhere you want to go in Rome. Since there are so many things to see in Rome, this is very important. No one hotel will ever be close to everything... More

We have just spent 3 nights at the Morgana Hotel in Rome. We had pre-booked limousine pick-up from airport which went smoothly. On arrival at hotel some time wasted at reception something to do with passports but to our relief there was no problem with our booking. When we arrived at our room we were shocked to find that the... More

Great hotel. Some reviews said the area (Termini) was a bit dodgy. It seemed okay to me, not brilliant, but okay. There were a few undesirables but it didn't seem any different to any other city we've visited. We were never hassled or felt threatened. Anyway, the hotel was great, we were a bit worried when we turned up on... More

If you're going to Rome, then you should be aware that it is easy to arrive to- and depart from a hotel in the Termini area. And it is nice to have the the central bus station and metro close by. But it isn't terrible close to most of Rome's attractions, and thats our major complaint about this hotel (as... More

I disagree with the reviewer from February. We stayed at the Morgana March 11th - 17th. It was the best hotel we have stayed at in Europe. The front desk people could not have been nicer (especially the gorgeous Italian woman that works there... you will know who she is if you see her). It is standard in Rome for... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
