My wife and I along with another couple spent 6 days at the Hotel Napoleon at the end of a three week trip to Europe. It made our trip!!! From the friendly staff to the sumptuous breakfast every morning. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. We were fortunate to meet the family that owned the hotel thru the wine tasting evening that... This is a beautiful hotel with very nice rooms, wonderful, experienced staff-but not in the nicest area. They have a large sitting area on the second floor and free wifi. The metro station is right outside of hotel and very convenient. The breakfast area is very large and nice and staff is there to serve beverages. There are also plenty... More

The Napoleon is a very very nice older hotel that embodies the lavishness of a bygone era. The common areas are big, decorated nicely and gives us the ability to rest and relax after a long day of sightseeing. The restaurant serves excellent food and the bar provides a relaxing area for a cold drink and snacks. All of this... More

The staff at Hotel Napoleon are very nice and helpful. Their treatment of our family was amazing. My only critique is that the entire hotel needs to be refurbished. The decor and furniture is outdated. The location is very good as it is only minutes from the Colosseum and a quick drive to the Vatican.

Dear Vchimient, Thank you for your review and for the appreciation regarding the service and the location of the Hotel Napoleon. With respect to your opinion about the refurbishment of the Hotel, I have to say that we have recently renewed the furniture in almost all the rooms, in all the common areas, and we refurbish bathrooms continuously, install new... We stayed here for 4 nights and it was perfect for what we needed. The main attractions were in walking distance from the hotel, except the Vatican which was a 10 minute metro journey which you can catch straight outside from the hotel. The staff were all very friendly and they sent a bottle of champagne up for my boyfriends... More

We stayed here for 3 days and there is nothing bad to talk about this hotel. From the day we checked in, everything was good. We were upgraded to bigger room and they sent us champagne to celebrate our honeymoon. Nice gesture! My husband loves their breakfast and claimed it to be the best in the whole trip. It is... More

Great Hotel! Roberto was as wonderful as everyone has said along with the rest of the staff. They were friendly and helpful. They had maps at the front desk and outlined how to get to all attractions, most were in walking distance. The Vatican was easy to get to from the metro across the street in which they sold tickets,... More

A great central hotel. Wonderful welcome. The staff cannot do enough for you, most helpful in advising how to get around Rome. The metro is just across the pavement and tickets can be purchased from the front desk. rooms are fine, bed comfortable and clean, shower good pressure and hot. breakfast was better that expected and the availability of fresh... Had a wonderful stay at Napoleon Hotel, staff were fantastic - friendly and went out of their way to make sure you enjoyed your stay. Nothing was too much of a problem. Food was excellent. The owners of the hotel have a cocktail night on a Monday, where all guests are welcome with drinks and canapes. They spoke to everyone... More

A hard review to give, reason being the service is probably the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in. Food was also very good. The concierge especially was brilliant. The hotel though itself has many flaws, as the location is off the beaten track, and rooms ok, certainly nothing amazing and our first room tiny, not helped by... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
