Pluses and minuses galore. Biggest plus is that you have friends in Rome and they all work at the very warm and helpful desks of the Napoleon. Everyone was so kind that we felt like we were visiting a friend's home. Very nice and very hospitable. The hotel itself is a tad tired, especially the bedrooms. The public spaces are... More

Dear Rojersery, Thank you for your review and for your appreciation, particularly regarding the team of our Reception and Concierge. Just a couple of notes regarding your remarks. On your arrival, we assigned two rooms on the first floor, but your mobile could not get the phone line. Then we have offered you an accommodation on the fifth floor, and... More

My wife and I stayed here for our 15th wedding Anniversary 18-21 Feb. Lovely welcome at reception and after being shown to our room my wife answered our door to receive with compliments of hotel Chilled Prosecco and beautiful flowers, which was a super surprise. Room was a good size (411) large bathroom and table and chairs, tea and coffee.... More

A nice hotel which deserves an excellent rating, largely thanks to its most attentive staff. They were always willing and eager to help with every request. The location is not great, though it is located directly opposite a metro station which takes you to the central bus and train station within minutes. The rooms are pleasant and the public areas... Me and my husband stayed here recently as our first destination of our honeymoon. We got wine as a special compliment and infact they upgraded our room as well. The location is just perfect- one stop away from roma termini station and bang at the vittorio emannuel station. This place is also walking from colosseo. We had a great time... More

We stayed here as part of our tour group. Front desk staff were very friendly and in fact, the hotel owner, wanted to personally greet us and hand us our key. Requests for extra pillows was met immediately and the breakfast room staff were very kind and accommodating as well. Hotel's elevator (aka: lifts) were VERY small and only went... More

Me and my partner recently visited the hotel for a long weekend over Valentine's and could not have asked for a nicer hotel! The room was plenty big enough for our needs and immaculately clean (even down the back of the cabinets as I discovered when I dropped a souvenir). Not much of a view but what do you expect... More

This was my 2nd visit to this hotel. I was there two years ago. It is located just right off the subway entrance, and surrounded by all kind of restaurants. Price is very reasonable, room is clean and well maintained, beds and bedding are very nice, and we still enjoy the quality of the included breakfast. Even we enjoy walking,... More

we regret that this hotel has no view (which is mentioned on their website, so no real surprise). The concierge is very professional, but the staff in the breakfast room definitely needs further training (they are unfriendly, unhelpful despite us tipping them correctly). We won't book this hotel again for various reasons explained by other contributors, even though it fills... More

Dear Anne DF, Firstly, I wish to thank you for your review and for outlining some good aspects of your stay, as the good attitude of our Concierge and the general standard of the Hotel, that fits the requirements of a 4 stars hotel. Regarding the view from the room, I agree that it is not the best feature of... More

Friendly, accommodating and helpful staff greeted us upon arrival and each time entering hotel from a day of sightseeing. Roberto provided a great restaurant reference. The convenience of a Metro entrance just steps from the front door was great. We would definitely stay here again. We were not able to be present for a social time on Friday evening with... More

Beautiful, perfect, delightful, warm and generous. We stayed at this wonderfully quaint Hotel 22-26 Jan 2015 to celebrate a very special 50th birthday celebration. A truly fantastic stay. Everything just gelled and clicked. Without doubt the best short stay that we have ever had. We cannot thank all of the staff, especially the owner Roberto Cioce . You are an... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
