We were charged a tax that we were not expecting when we went to check out and they called it a city tax after we had spent the night...it should have been included in the cost instead of surprising the next morning. The breakfast was self serve and it was very fresh fruit and pastries etc. We had paid the... More

Dear Janet, thanks so much for choosing NH Leonardo da Vinci and for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor. The city tax (Contributo di Soggiorno) you mentioned on your post has been introduced by the Italian law n. 42/2009 - Decreto Legge 31 maggio 2010 n. 78. It has to be completely separated from the room rate. I’m really sorry you... More

Good best buy for the money option within Rome, as it is walking distance for the basilica and served by good trasportation, both bus & metro. I enjoy being out of downtown, as the surrunding areas are great. Rooms are quite small, but clean. Breakfast is very good.

I was very pleased with the staff. They were multi-lingual, which made our stay easier. The morning breakfast service included a very nice assortment of hot and cold foods and drinks, and remained open later than most hotels, which was nice for us since our bodies were not yet adjusted to the local time. They also provided a luggage check... More

The hotel is in a good location, as its only a 15 minutes walk to Vatican City and a 20 minutes walk to the Spanish Stairs. You could even walk to the Colosseum if you wanted to as it is a 40 minutes walk. The staff is friendly and the rooms are quite good and spacious. The only thing was... More

The hotel is in a good location. 10-15 minutes walk to Vatican City, Piazza Popolo and Spanish Steps. Close to a lot of good restaurants/bakeries (Caffetteria dei Gracchi, iL Gianfornaio), small pizza stall called Pizze Rustiche and a famous gelateria - Gelateria dei Gracchi. We booked a family room for four for 5 nights. It was quite spacious and with... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
