This hotel was recomended to my by a former colleague who stayed there. She thaught it was lovely and we were looking forward to our trip, however, after reading some awful reviews on tripadvisor I became a little wary. Tha hotel was well maintained, extremely clean and we had no problems with staff (whom other travellers believed to be rude-... more

We stayed for two nights in August 2008 on a Globus Tour. The location was great, walking distance to the Vatican and St. Peters Square. Short bus ride to the historic area as well. Rooms were beautiful and so were the bathrooms! Shower was wonderful!! more

We just spent two weeks between London, Paris and Rome. By far the rudest service we recieved was from the staff at The Hotel Michelangelo in Rome. The front desk seemed put out to provide any services what so ever. As an example when asked to call us a cab the staff threw both hands in the air and gave... more

We had a very nice stay at the Michelangelo. Our room, 706, was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again. more

We stayed in 4 hotels in Italy for our honeymoon and this was the only one that left a rose in our room. Nice first impression. The room was spacious and clean although the walls needed painting. The foyer was classey however the staff weren't the friendliest. The location is good to explore the vatican and St Peters but is... more

Very clean, better than expected breakfast, quiet neighbourhood. Well located, near the vaticano , where there are lots of fountains of fresh water- precious in July when the temperature rises to 40ºC! more

My family and I stayed at the Starhotels Michaelangelo for four nights in the first week of July as part of a vacation package from Costco Travel. The only positive attribute the hotel has is its close proximity to the Vatican. Every member of the staff we encountered had a negative, snobby and unfriendly attitude. The breakfast buffet was poor.... more

This is my second stay at this hotel and unlike a lot of other reviewers of this hotel, I am staying here on business and not for sightseeing. I wont bother coming back here again. I checked in and they gave me a room with a two single beds and a desk that the TV took most of the space... more

The hotel is ok in the looks department, certainly not in a 4* range but Rome hotels are notorious for claiming 4*s so this issue will be elsewhere too. The room we stayed in was fine for a 3* hotel but the AC didnt work. Upon complaining the repairman came , felt the paltry trickle of cold air and said... more

The only good thing about this place is that our beds seemed clean. That's about it. It's not in a great area. This was at the end of our tour so compared to the hotel cicerone which was close to everything, we didn't want to go walking here. Unless you want to hang out at the vatican which is right... more
