My wife and I stayed here for four days from the 17th April 2015 and found the location to be second to none with amazing views. On our arrival we were greeted by the extremely helpful and welcoming; Gianluca, one of the two brothers whose family own the property. He gave us the low down on where all of the... More

I stayed 15 days at this charming, family-run pension. The location is set in the heart of Ancient Rome amidst the Roman Forum, right off Via Imperial, the main thoroughfare. It is within walking distance of many, many major attractions as well as bus and metro lines. Also, there were many good restaurants nearby. The building itself is comprised of apartments... More

Luigi and his family made our stay here very comfortable. This is his family home and you are invited to join him like his family. The decor is very traditional and you stay on a separate floor to the family so are left to look after yourself. You do have to help yourself to breakfast but there was plenty on... More

In Residenza Maritti you feel like at home - Gianluca is such a nice host that you really feel at ease and very comfortable. The location is wonderful, you can easily walk to many attractions - Fontana di Trevi, Coliseum, the main train station (Statione Termini), where you can take the sightseeing bus or the train to so many places... Beautiful family home transformed into a delightful BnB. Our very comfortable and spacious room looked out over the ruins of the Imperial Forum, all the way to the Colosseum. More than enough room for a family of three and the shower was large and clean. The help yourself breakfast simple and plentiful and with the large dining table and warm... More

An excellent location only moments from the forum and Colosseum. Great view of ruins from our room. Fantastic views and sunset from rooftop terrace where a delicious 3 course Italian meal with wines was organised by the owners for a very reasonable charge. The room was spacious and modern, very comfortable. It is in an area away from noise but... More

I found this gem on Trip Advisor. It is everything it is cracked up to be. As a classics major who studied in Rome 40 years ago for six months, I never dreamed I would sleep in a room overlooking the Forum of Augustus. Breathtaking. Gianluca could not have been more helpful in arranging transport from Fiumicino. This is a... More

The location is everything here. A short walk to just about everything in Rome. Our room faced the Forum. You can watch the sunset over the Forum. In the morning, the views from your room are - cliche alert - priceless. Nice bathroom with a shower. The Marittis are wonderful hosts. There is not a hint of formality to the... More

Two friends and I stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of our holiday in Italy. One of us had stayed here a number of years ago and recommended it to us. We didn't't check out TripAdvisor or anything before we went there. Residenza Maritti is a fantastic place for visiting Rome - only minutes from lots of 'must-see'... More

Our first time in Roma and no previous overnight experience. We were so pleasantly surprised not only by the location & the amenities, but the warm personal attention and the graciousness of our host(s), the Residenza Maritti family. Rather than a "typical" hotel experience, we were treated as guests staying with the Maritti family and welcomed into an Italian Roma... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
