Jus back from a short break in Rome. Staying at the Britannia was ideal with great friendly service from Madelina and all her staff.Cute bedroom fitted out beautifully. Nice touch with free mini bar and for us on our anniversary complimentary bowl of fruit. Fantastic breakfast selection. Very convenient to Termini and from the adjacent Via Nazionale all bus stops... This was our second stay at this hotel. We were here two and half years ago. The major advantage of this hotel is its location. It is a few blocks from the main train station in Rome. You can walk to most of Rome's major tourist places. The buffet in the morning is very good, but does not have a... More

This Hotel had a fair price, in a seemingly safe part of town. Easy enough to book a room online. The staff was nice, very helpful and spoke English. WiFi was fast and the room was nice and clean. I would stay there my next time in Rome.

I stayed in hotel Britannia for two nights, got there late at night and the guy from the reception was extremely nice with a big smile and helped me with the quickest checking in. The room was amazing with beautiful decoration. The cleaning is done everyday and in a very effective way. The other reception agents were all nice and... More

Fantastic location for tourism, the Britannia is a small comfortable hotel with attentive staff. I normally never have time to indulge in cultural wanderings when on business trips but the hotel location made bumping into grand old buildings impossible. Its set on a quiet side-street and tries to imitate grander hotels with ornate marble fittings, the result is pleasant if... More

The location is perfect (via napoli, 7min. on foot from Termini train station). A small boutique hotel with friendly and professional staff. They made sure our stay for unforgettable, going beyond the standard service. The room had a large bed, great interior decoration. A romantic weekend we will never forget.

This is maybe the friendliest staff we've ever come across. The breakfast was delicious, the location perfect and even if the room was small, it was very well isolated. No noices from either the street outside or the other rooms. No question, we will come back to this hotel the next time we visit Rome.

We spent several days here post cruise. The rooms have been recently renovated and even better than before. They kept the charm of the public areas which we liked. This is a small hotel in an excellent location. Public transportation is very convenient, many of the city highlights are within walking distance as are good restaurants and shopping. The rooms... Stayed here for 2 nights in Mid-November and really enjoyed it. The location is great...only about a 10 minute walk to Termini Station/Metro Station and 20 minute walk to the Colosseum. The hotel is very charming in the inside, but don't be discouraged by the homeless people sleeping across from the hotel at night...they leave at the first crack of... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
