We spent three nights here and were very pleased. The staff was excellent and helpful in every way. The breakfast was very good with a large selection to choose from. The room was small as some have mentioned, however our bathroom was large and very nice. The location is excellent as it is in the city center. You can walk... More

I never thought I will appreciate the bed in any hotel :-) but, this bed was really good or may be we were very tired... More

We spent 4 nights just after Xmas, and liked the good service, sumptuous breakfast, and central location. Concierge friendly and helpful, always cheerful with a smile! Close to many good restaurants, of different price range and styles, including Pipero al Rex, Michelin 1 star, also highly recommended. Close to Santa Pudenziana and Santa Prassede, hidden gems of all the places... More

My wife and I visited Rome in October for a short two night break. I picked Hotel Britannia for its location and was glad that I did as it served us well. From the hotel you could easily walk to Central Station, Metro stations and more importantly the main sights around the Forum. The staff at the hotel (particularly Simone)... More

Paid the double superior room by hotels.com , the front desk said I had to pay 12 euro for city tax and pay for extra person? 30 euro. it is a trap, make sure you put 2 adults when booking through the hotels.com. I checked again to see any price difference, there were none. Just a trap , by a... More

Mr chong n, We are very sorry to read such a bad review in which you even use the unallowed word "trap" connected to our name: you are aware the fact is that your reservation was for one person only but you were two people at the check-in, so the problem should be investigated with your agency, we simply managed... A couple of days ago I came back with my husband and we were treated with the most welcome as in the past. We were upgraded to a superior room with balcony on the fourth floor and we were lucky enough to enjoy the good weather even in a cold day. The heating system was perfect night and day and... More

Good location in a nice part of the city closed by good restaurants. The stuff is very helpful and kind you could ask anything and get answer with a smile. Breakfast is rich and worth attention and minibar refill. The hotel worth the money paid for and is highly recommended for any tourist who wants to tour the city, be... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
