Casa di Santa Francesca Romana is a beautiful, immaculate, smoothly and graciously run facility that frequently hosts conferences for the Church. Rooms are rented to guests when theyare available. -It is located on a very narrow street about a block from the Tiber River, but taxis can get right up to the front door. -The Reception is staffed 24 hours... We enjoyed our stay in this property. The building itself is lovely and the staff are very helpful with any requests. The location is excellent and in the 4 days we were there we walked everywhere. We covered so many narrow laneways and enjoyed the Trastevere area immensely. The only negatives for us were the lack of a safety box,... More

This hotel is located in an old convent in Trastevere. There are still a few chapels in the building and a beautiful peaceful garden. The room was large, the bathroom was large. Breakfast is self serve in a nondescript dining hall. Nearby restaurants were outstanding. If you want to stay in Trastevere this is the place. You are steps from... More

Great helpful staff, very near to the old ruins of Rome. In the Trasteverre area just south of the Tiber. In fact a few temples were only 5 minute walk from the hotel. Transit and local buses are about 5 minutes away. Interesting rooms in the building which was an old house. They still have a Chapel in it. Lots... More

This was a second time staying in this hotel. I will stay here again definitely. Some reviews complain about the WiFi not working in the rooms but ours worked fine in our room. I was a little disappointed of the breakfast this time, I believe last time it had more options and it was better. I personally like staying in... More

Casa di Santa Francesca Romana is situated in Trastevere in a very good location when you want to see Rome. I visited a family member living near and jut happend to find this place. It is a sort of religious place with pilgrims and family members who are visiting somebody in a nearby hospitals. Anyway the room we had was... More

Location, ample rooms, great staff, fair price. Wishing they will get a better coffee, that would be my only suggestion. This is a beautiful place, in a perfect location, clean, comfortable, with a wonderful staff and a fair price.

A comfortable and clean room in this well managed hotel, where the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, close to many of the historic areas and public transport. Trastevere is well known for its many restaurants and boutiques. Breakfast was included and was basic, but satisfactory.

Trastavere is a great location in Rome, we liked the atmosphere. There are plenty nice restaurants and a bakery nearby. We enjoyed the hotel, the breakfast (for Italian standards it was rich) and the nice patio.

Just finished our stay. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The room was small and somewhat spartan, very clean. The location was great. Paid 129 Euros per night plus room tax. Breakfast included and was good, but the selection never changed and would get tedious after a week. Probably not the best price around. Be sure to book the... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
