My husband and I were warmly welcomed by Emiliano when we arrived for a Valentine's Day weekend visit. The Berger Room was indeed lovely, and the B&B's attention to detail made us feel very special (i.e., flowers to congratulate our recent wedding and a bottle of local white wine to enjoy). This same hospitality extended to breakfast--not only were there... More

I stayed at Locanda del Sole for four days in Rome and had the most beautiful room during my stay, the Berger. Marco and Emilio were welcoming when I arrived and were helpful with my travels. I was upgraded to the Berger room upon arrival and I loved it! It was the perfect room for me and was definitely lovely... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and would certainly come again. The location is convenient to many places in the historic section of Rome and everyone we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was above and beyond what you'd normally see in Rome.

The Locanda del Sole was the right choice for my wife and me for spending a few days in Rome. Location is central to several sites including the Vatican, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona. The Colosseum and Via della Lungaretta are further but walkable. The staff was excellent. Marco and Emeliano made tremendous effort to make us feel... More

This is an adorable little B&B in the centre of Rome. We really enjoyed our quick weekend in Rome in part because of this adorable find. The hotel is super central and everyone is really friendly and helpful with tips for getting around. The staff goes out of their way to help you with your trip. The room has all... More

My wife and I stayed here for four nights in the middle of September and were very impressed. There is a ground floor reception plus four en suite rooms to the first floor - the rest of the building seems to be in separate and unconnected use as private apartments. The hotel space is entirely secure. The business has been... More

We have never stayed in a B and B before, but we are so glad a friend recommended this one to us. A great location that was @ 5-10 minutes to the Vatican, 5 minutes to Piazza Navarro, 10 minute walk to Borghese park and museum, @15 minute walk to the Colosseum, Palatine hill and the Forum. Great neighborhood with... More

My husband and I stayed 2 nights with only 1.5 days to squeeze in our must-sees--ROme was last minute add-on so we never contacted this B&B ahead or made any reservations. (Do email your wish-list ahead for help with your itinerary). From the minute we arrived, Emilio & owner Marco took us under their wing, helped organize our stay, obtained... More

What a special place in Roma this B&B is for our family. We couldn't imagine visiting Roma and not staying here and with its very special proprietors... Marco + Pierluigi. This was our fourth stay at Locanda del Sole and it always goes too fast. From their sweet service to great breakfast to their recommendations; all is great for us... More

There was no disappointing aspect of our stay at Locanda del Sole. Besides being a well located B&B (close to all the major sights and shopping heart), the rooms were as shown in the photographs, and, as described by Marco over the phone. They were spotless and stocked upon arrival and maintained to that standard for 5 consecutive days (fresh... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
