Very nice location in Rome. We had the suite with a private teracce. This was very nice. However the beds are not comfortable. Would recommend softer madrasses. This hotel has the harded madrasses i've ever experienced.

The hotel is tucked away in a beautiful side street in the heart of Rome. The service is impeccable and the people so very generous. The accommodations are simple, not elaborate, but perfect for the budgeted and refined traveller alike. Right next to church and trattorias. We will visit again and again...

I have just recently returned from a 4 night stay at the Hotel Portoghesi, it was a little difficult to find as it is tucked away in a side street close to the Piazza Navona. Having been to Rome 2 times before we knew we wanted to stay close to this area and the Hotel Portoghesi was a good choice.... More

I have been staying at the hotel since 1975. It used to be a great deal with an extremely helpful staff. But these days, this once charmingly shabby hotel is just shabby. Just down the street one can find better appointed rooms at a much lower price. The hotel offers a wonderful breakfast but if you have an early flight,... More

Dear Madam, it isn't absolutely true that in the past we served breakfast before 7.30 am, I work at the Hotel Portoghesi since 1983 and schedules conflict with the our staff we could never and I repeat never served breakfast before 'scheduled time. So please do not leave reviews that do not correspond to the truth. Thank you More

Stayed 3 nights. Great location! Able to walk to all sights, Vatican, Colosseum, Pantheon, etc and even to Travestere restaurants. Enjoyed having a small convenience store next door. Bought our wine and had a nice "Happy Hour" on the rooftop before going out to dinner. The staff were all very helpful. The rooftop breakfast was just fine. The room was a... More

I've stayed here many times over the past 20 years, and though it is still my favorite in Rome, the place is a bit dated, and over priced. The Torre Suite is real nice, but the price is way too high. Nice room with terrace, but bath is small and not very nice. Small shower and cramped toilet area. Other... More

We recently stayed in the adjoining apartment and had a thoroughly great time. We arrived early after a morning arrival at FCO and we appreciated the ease of an early check-in. The apartment itself is very comfortable and our sleeping quarters for 4 people were very comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast at the rooftop garden and found the service to be... More

The price was right. The rooms were small, but big enough. Place was clean and kept up. Location was spectacular nestled between Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, etc. Close enough to walk to most of the sites and neighborhoods, but if not, a bus stop close by. Air conditioned. Staff was very accommodating from maids, to concierge to breakfast servers. Enjoyed... More

Great location, helpful staff, and a rooftop breakfast with a limited view of the dome of St. Peter's made it a great choice for our visit to Rome. The air conditioned room was modest with a newer bathroom and shower, but very nice when compared with other hotels in its price range and location. The staff was very helpful in... More

An excellent stay at Hotel Portoghesi!! We stayed for 3 nights in July 2014. This was our first stop in Italy, and we took the train from the airport to the Spagna Station with hopes to walk to the hotel. We were delayed and didn’t arrive at Spagna until 9pm, so we decided to take a quick cab ride with... More
