Our Hotel Portoghesi stay was perfect for our quick Rome vacation. The location was ideal as we were able to walk everywhere. Our triple room was comfortable with an updated and spacious bathroom. The hotel staff helped us arrange for airport transfer and gave us good walking directions. The breakfast fare wasn't anything special, but was fine. We were unable... More

One minute on foot from the Piazza Navona, in a scenic side street, next to an adorable baroque church originally catering to the Portughese community in Rome. Family owned, impeccable, friendly staff, and a splendid roof terrace where breakfast is served - the espresso machine is turned on at 7:30 am!

This hotel's location is excellent. It's on a quiet street so we had no street noise issues. However, it's within easy walking distance is Piazza Navona and much more. This was really important to us as we did not want to take Taxis all the time. Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon are an easy walk. We were even able to... More

This is a lovely little hotel, very well located, extremely helpful service and ultra clean. Our room was a bit snug( but pretty standard for a well located budget hotel). The bathroom was very nice, beautiful tile, great shower and I didn't feel cramped. I thought the price (165 euro for 2 narrow twins pushed together) was a bargain in... More

It was as great as the first time I stayed here - over 10 years ago when I was with my mother celebrating the completion of my PhD and about to take my first "real" job. It is conveniently located near all the historic spots of Rome, either by walking or taxi. Many lovely restaurants close-by. The staff was excellent... More

Tucked in an ancient alley 5 mins walk from Piazza Navonne, this is a little gem that we've stayed at several time. The desk is efficient, the breakfast room on the rooftop is a great place to start your day, and the rooms are nice.

This was my 2nd stay here. It is convenient to everything in Historic Rome. Walk to the Vatican, the Pantheon, Spanish steps, etc. All 3 desk clerks were helpful for our group of 9. Need a taxi? The desk will call and you have one there in less than 2 minutes. The alleys surrounding the hotel are fun to explore.... More

Recently spent two very nice nights at this little hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room/deck area was outstanding. Food and drink selection were extensive. Air conditioning was effective and quiet. Would not hesitate to stay here next time in Rome.

Terrific location in centro storico. Excellent AC for a comfortable night's sleep. Getting there from Stazione Termini with a public bus is a bit of a schlepp. The #492 recommended by the hotel is a good 300 meters from Termini (ask for via Volturno); be sure to get off at the 2nd stop on Corso Rinascimento opposite P. Navona, and... More

This was our third visit to the Portoghesi and we hope, it will not be our last. The location is perfect...off the beaten path but still close to the center of all the action. Just a few winding ally-ways from the Piazza Navona. On a cobblestone street next to the charmingly historic Monkey Tower. We've stayed in the luxury suite... More
