Stayed 3 nights. Great location! Able to walk to all sights, Vatican, Colosseum, Pantheon, etc and even to Travestere restaurants. Enjoyed having a small convenience store next door. Bought our wine and had a nice "Happy Hour" on the rooftop before going out to dinner. The staff were all very helpful. The rooftop breakfast was just fine. The room was a... More

I've stayed here many times over the past 20 years, and though it is still my favorite in Rome, the place is a bit dated, and over priced. The Torre Suite is real nice, but the price is way too high. Nice room with terrace, but bath is small and not very nice. Small shower and cramped toilet area. Other... More

We recently stayed in the adjoining apartment and had a thoroughly great time. We arrived early after a morning arrival at FCO and we appreciated the ease of an early check-in. The apartment itself is very comfortable and our sleeping quarters for 4 people were very comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast at the rooftop garden and found the service to be... More

The price was right. The rooms were small, but big enough. Place was clean and kept up. Location was spectacular nestled between Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, etc. Close enough to walk to most of the sites and neighborhoods, but if not, a bus stop close by. Air conditioned. Staff was very accommodating from maids, to concierge to breakfast servers. Enjoyed... More

Great location, helpful staff, and a rooftop breakfast with a limited view of the dome of St. Peter's made it a great choice for our visit to Rome. The air conditioned room was modest with a newer bathroom and shower, but very nice when compared with other hotels in its price range and location. The staff was very helpful in... More

An excellent stay at Hotel Portoghesi!! We stayed for 3 nights in July 2014. This was our first stop in Italy, and we took the train from the airport to the Spagna Station with hopes to walk to the hotel. We were delayed and didn’t arrive at Spagna until 9pm, so we decided to take a quick cab ride with... More

We stayed in the apartment that the Hotel Portoghesi rents. It's in the building next door. The double bed in the master, as well as the hide-a-bed in the couch were both very uncomfortable. Also, the breakfast was an 'open the package or can' type of offering. It was prepackaged meats/cheese, canned fruit and cold cereal with a few fresh... More

Sorry immensely to the problem of the beds, no customer has ever complained about the quality of the sleep at the apartment but you could have put us aware of the situation and certainly we could find an alternative solution. As for our breakfast, we only use single dose because the law does not allow us to use the products... More

Great location- we were able to walk everywhere in Rome! We appreciated daily breakfast in an adorable rooftop garden with friendly staff, good wifi, and a/c. Only wish the room could have been slightly larger as there was barely room for our two small suitcases. As we were jetlagged we were going to bed a little on the early side,... More

Our Hotel Portoghesi stay was perfect for our quick Rome vacation. The location was ideal as we were able to walk everywhere. Our triple room was comfortable with an updated and spacious bathroom. The hotel staff helped us arrange for airport transfer and gave us good walking directions. The breakfast fare wasn't anything special, but was fine. We were unable... More

One minute on foot from the Piazza Navona, in a scenic side street, next to an adorable baroque church originally catering to the Portughese community in Rome. Family owned, impeccable, friendly staff, and a splendid roof terrace where breakfast is served - the espresso machine is turned on at 7:30 am!
