We stayed in the apartment, which has a separate entrance off the street. Two adults and two teenagers. Very spacious. Felt like we had our own flat in Rome. Very hospitable and helpful with transportation. And a great restaurant right next door. Location is fantastic for walking to many places.

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Italy and spent the last 3 days at this great little hotel. It is so well located that we walked to many sights and restaurants. The breakfast is very good with many choices and a lovely room and outside terrace. The room was very clean and spacious and nicely decorated.... More

I have been staying at the Hotel Portoghesi since 1984 and would not consider staying anywhere else in Rome. This small, family run hotel is a true gem of excellence on a quiet street in the heart of ancient Rome. It is very clean, has excellent service, and the rooftop breakfast pavillion is great. You can walk to all of... More

Our two families (two adults and 2 college kids) stayed in the apartment and a suite for 3 nights. We loved the location as we could walk everywhere. We also loved the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff (especially Guiseppe) from restaurant recommendations to shopping help and timing of our activities in the short 3 days we were there. We... More

With so many hotel options in Rome, it seemed oddly coincidental that Hotel Portoghesi was recommended by not one, but two completely unrelated friends. It was described to us as "clean, safe, and ideally located." So we, and another couple that was traveling with us, decided to go with the recommendations. And were so glad that we did. This small,... More

Hotel Portoghesi quickly became our home away from home during our 4 night stay. The neighborhood is enchanting with many small restaurants, little shops, and churches (you must enter the church next to the hotel- you will be amazed). More than likely you will stumble upon The Pantheon during your first walk around the neighborhood. Take advantage of the delicious... More

This hotel was really great. Staff was welcoming and friendly. The room we got was small but we had enough room to put our luggage. The blinds offered so much quietness and darkness we slept better than at home and the air conditioning was working perfectly and quietly. The hotel is located within a few minutes of the Pantheon, and... More

Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Portoghesi. The location made it convenient to walk to most of Romes popular attractions. Adjacent streets are closed to regular traffic making it easy to keep windows open all day and night, if we wanted. Shopping and restaurants all around. Staff was friendly and helpful. We'd like to stay there again.

Staying in Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori

Neighborhood Profile
Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighborhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.
