Spent four nights with my daughter in this lovely hotel. A special deal on the room- it was quite small but worked out okay since we were out and about most of the day. The room decor was "busy" but the room was immaculate, cleaned daily, and the bathroom was sufficient. The breakfast was okay...sufficient but not amazing. However, the... More

Thank you Atlante Hotel for a beautiful stay in Rome. We had a junior suite, triple room on the first floor and it was lovely. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. I loved the warmth of the hotel, the decor and traditional features. We loved the buffet breakfast and fantastic dining room with a view but most of... More

Nice hotel, clean. Beautiful view from the rooftop bar, however our room was very small & very dark, which wadnt helped by the carpets on the walls. Told the hotel before arriving it was our wedding anniversary and my husbands 40th, hoping that we would get a nice room but no. Didn't eat at the hotel as they weren't open... More

The 360 degree view of Rome was by far the standout of the hotel. Having Breakfast in the morning was always a delight looking right onto an amazing view of the Vatican. Tha is where the highlights stop. After arriving in Rome the hotel shuttle that we booked broke down and we had to take a cab to the hotel.... More

Perfect hotel in terms of affordability, location and services. Short walk to the St Peter basilica and other parts of Vatican city. Walking distance to other big tourist attractions, except for colloseum which is on the other side of the town.

The proximity to the Vatican and view from the roof terrace are the main features for the hotel. The staff was always pleasant and helpful, even faxing a document for us to the U.S. The hotel is due for a remodel, but the rooms were clean and there was a customer computer and printer next to the lobby, which was... We ( my wife, 9 yr old son & I) stayed here for 5 days during our holiday through Europe. I must say I chose this hotel mainly for its location close to and within a short walk to St Peter's Basilica and of course the photo of the view from the hotel terrace on the booking.com site. Turned out... More

The hotel is okay. Don't expect anything fancy just because it's a 4-star hotel. It is definitely an old hotel, so it is not very technological (no fancy room key, no fancy TV, no fancy A/C, no fancy hair dryer). However, it serves breakfast (which is always a plus) and it's in a great location. It serves its purpose well.... More

The location of this hotel was amazing, only a ten minute walk to St Peter's Basilica - it made our holiday so much easier! There are also loads of really nice restaurants close by as well with cheaper menus than ones in the center. The hotel itself was lovely, with really nice furniture. The room we stayed in was a... The main - if not the only - attraction of this hotel is the fabulous roof terrace, the ideal place to watch the sunset over the Vatican, while sipping a cool drink. This is just what we did, enjoying the views and the glorious flowers lovingly planted around the perimeter of the terrace. The staff were pleasant enough, the room... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
