Everything in Rome can be very expensive so we decided to book Civico 31 B&B as it was quite reasonable price. The room was okay, couldn't complain as it has a big bed, small bathroom, wardrobe, etc. However, it was a bit noisy and I guess it is just because the building is quite old and has thin wall. So... This B & B, fairly close to the Termini Station is rather no frills but solid and lovingly handled by its friendly and helpful staff. On arrival, our host was not in, but across the street and left a note with my name and where to find him 10 yards away. Very easy and quick; I have waited longer to... More

I will have to go with the raving reviews about the friendly welcome, good location, spacious room (blue) and this B & B having everything we needed... what did it for me was the film themed decoration making the feel of staying here like staying in a private home. Also appreciated the shared coffee facilities and the strong wifi as... More

Stayed at Civico 31 for 5 nights in July. When we arrived, sweaty and exhausted, we were greeted by Max who was very friendly and welcoming. The room we stayed in was the "orange" room, everything was super b in the room, it was spacious and in the utterly exhausting heat of Rome, the air/conditioning was perfect. WiFi and TV... More

The B&B was excellent for our needs; though, technically, it’s not really a B&B since it does not serve breakfast – but you do get a coupon to use at the nearby tavern, Bar Tavi, for a pastry and a beverage a block from the B&B (turn left out the door then make an immediate right). There are 6 steps... More

Excellent clean rooms, nicely decorated and friendly staff. The rooms have airco what is needed in Rome on a hot summer day. The B&B is not so far from metro and train station. Its located in a quite street. Very good beds. Breakfast is served in a little bar a bit further with very good coffee and excellent croissants (try... More

We had stayed here in April15 for 3nights. My husband & I were greeted by Max, a wonderful and friendly host. It was best stay ever for 1st timers like us in Rome. It was very cosy & convenient. Right in front, there is turkish kebab stall, so when u are hungry just go right in front. With the map,... More

Max was so helpful, blue room was so spacious for 2 people and very clean. Movie posters were great and so interesting. Breakfast is light but it was so hot in Rome I didn't want to sit down for an epic meal anyway. Close walk to Colosseum and main Termini train station. Vittorio Emmanuelle metro station a few minutes walk... More

My partner Emma and I stayed here for a few nights and it was one of the best stays we have ever had. Max was a fantastic host! He was very approachable and knowledgable about the city. We stayed in the Blue room. Very spacious, clean and decorated with posters from the May Britt film Blue Angel. Worth asking Max... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
