We stayed here over the easter weekend, we booked well in advance as we knew everything would get booked up. A week before our trip we recieved an email saying that the owner had over booked and we would instead be staying in a hotel (not as good) down the road for the same price. We replied saying this was... More

We found this place online via trip adviser. Stunning decor. Each room had its own movie theme. The owners where quite passionate about vintage movies and took GREAT pride in the room decor. :-) Wifi was free and pretty fast. Room and bed was very comfortable. Shower was a tad small, but not like you spent the day in it... More

I stayed at Max's B&B last night and I was very impressed. It was very clean; everything you want was there - even a few extras like a corkscrew!. The bed was perfect (and I've stayed in some very uncomfortable beds lately). And Max was a great host - very efficient, thoughtful and lives very close. He arranged safe parking... More

Our stay in Rome was made all the better for staying here. Max and Giuseppe were amazingly helpful. From the small touches like having a list and map of suggested restaurants, and having an umbrella for us, which we definitely needed at the start of our stay. To providing power adaptors and booking our return to the airport for us.... More

A good location within easy reach of the metro system. The rooms are small but clean and functional, and very adequate for a short stay in rome. Breakfast is provided in a coffee shop around the corner. Max, the wonderful host will provide some advice on places to visit, and will meet you to let you into the apparent when... More

Decided to stay here when I was travelling around Europe with my girlfriend, and we wanted a reasonably priced place close enough to the train station (as we were training around Europe) but also close to the historical sites of Rome. The B&B Civico 31 ticked all these boxes, BUT what we were not expecting was the great hospitality of... More

My girlfriend and I booked this B&B for our short trip to Rome on the back of the great reviews from here and I'm pleased to say that my comments are no exception! Upon arrival we were greeted by the thoroughly charming Max. He ran us through the ins and outs of how things worked. Although breakfast isn't available in... More

Came here for my girlfriends 30th birthday. It's a good 10 minute walk from the train station but it's doable with hand luggage. Max the owner is brilliant. The guy should be a millionaire because he is the customer service guru. Nothing was too much trouble for him and his restaurant recommendations were spot on. He left us a bottle... More

This is very good value stay, the rooms are well appointed and the location is within an extended (with luggage) walk from the termini train station. The breakfast is coupon good at a local bar that serves what passes for an Italian breakfast. This bar is quite crowded with locals in the morning. However you can always make a coffee... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
